Roster as is would be 30-32 wins. Worst collection of bigs in the league and the worst bench in the league.
Unfortunately u are correct?last year bench was bad and this year gotta be worst?
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I disagree about the bench last season.  Cs had the 6MOY in PP, Hauser who led the team in 3pt%, Al who played solid D, and Luke who surprised everyone with a solid year.  The rest of the guys were so...so, but the top 9 players were solid.  This year, doesn't look good by design after JTs injury.

I have a very hard time believing the Cs will just punt an entire season. There will definitely be more moves to come.

There will 100% be more moves, but I don't think they'll be aimed at making us better this season.

I think the strategy will be to get us below the luxury tax, with a solid draft pick and a decent trade exception to enter next season.
They will definitely try and get under the apron/lux tax but I wouldnt put it past them to pick up someone like a Beal on a vet Mon deal once he?s a free agent and roll out something like White/Beal/Brown and whatever big(s) they can get by trading Simons/Hauser/Niang.

That would be interesting. Pick up someone even passable, like say Plumlee who played for the Suns last year on a min deal, and maybe convince Horford to return for a two-year, $10MM (player option for second) and see how we?re rolling around January.

If JB is having an MVP-type season (hey you never know, with JT gone maybe he goes Alpha dog) then see where we?re at.

If we?re top-three in the East give it a go. If we?re around 7-10, then play the scrubs and JB comes up with an ?injury? for the last three months.

Then cut the scrubs before the end of the year to get below the 1st apron.

Of course that may not be possible as I?m not a cap-ologist so please correct me.

Having PP, Simons, and Hauser off the bench??  That could be very interesting, if Beal signed with the Cs.

Pass on Beal. He finds excuses not to play. Had him on my fantasy team this year.

We should have plenty of offense with our top 4 of Jaylen, A Simons, D White, Pritchard.

It is more about defense, rebounding, and depth. Solid role players to put around those 4.

One of the things I have been worried about in the last few days has been the decline in glue guys / connectivity players.

Players who take individuals and make them a team.

The two players I had the most trust to do this on last year's team were Derrick White and Jrue Holiday. Now Jrue is gone. The next two were Jayson Tatum and Al Horford. Tatum is injured. Horford looks like he will be leaving.

That leaves us with just 1 of our 4 connectivity / glue guys from last season. Outside of D White, there is nobody on the roster I trust to make the individual parts come together into a whole / collective / a team.

Honestly I think the most depressing thing about the Celtics upcoming season is that there is almost nothing to look forward to.

Usually when you know a Celtics team is going to struggle, there are at least young players you can watch develop. But the current crop of drafted prospects are extremely raw or very limited in their skillset.

I think it will be okay watching Scheierman and Hugo.  Fingers crossed at least.

I am optimistic about Amari Williams also in terms of interest in how he develops.  Simons too.  I have interest to see what he can offer, what kind of value he can set for himself.

I like Hugo Gonzalez and his potential but he is just so raw.

I feel like in past seasons Hugo would be a stash draft pick so he can develop properly before coming to the NBA. Hugo was only averaging 5 points in the Spanish league and 1.9 in the Euro league.

I think both Hugo & Williams will almost exclusively play in Maine.

I don't think A Simons is much of a prospect at this point. He mostly is what he is. And that is a good player. He can improve his defense some but his offensive game looks fully cooked.

Is there any difference between Hugo Gonzalez and Josh Minott as a prospect heading into next season?

They both seem fairly similar. Minott actually looks the more interesting of the two to me. More athleticism. More driving on offense. More defensive playmaking.

Well for one Gonzalez is more than 3 years younger. Minot will be 23 in November, Hugo won't even be 20 until February.
