I have a very hard time believing the Cs will just punt an entire season. There will definitely be more moves to come.
There will 100% be more moves, but I don't think they'll be aimed at making us better this season.
I think the strategy will be to get us below the luxury tax, with a solid draft pick and a decent trade exception to enter next season.
They will definitely try and get under the apron/lux tax but I wouldnt put it past them to pick up someone like a Beal on a vet Mon deal once he?s a free agent and roll out something like White/Beal/Brown and whatever big(s) they can get by trading Simons/Hauser/Niang.
That would be interesting. Pick up someone even passable, like say Plumlee who played for the Suns last year on a min deal, and maybe convince Horford to return for a two-year, $10MM (player option for second) and see how we?re rolling around January.
If JB is having an MVP-type season (hey you never know, with JT gone maybe he goes Alpha dog) then see where we?re at.
If we?re top-three in the East give it a go. If we?re around 7-10, then play the scrubs and JB comes up with an ?injury? for the last three months.
Then cut the scrubs before the end of the year to get below the 1st apron.
Of course that may not be possible as I?m not a cap-ologist so please correct me.
Having PP, Simons, and Hauser off the bench?? That could be very interesting, if Beal signed with the Cs.
