The Spurs signed Luke Kornet to a four-year, $41 million deal, per
@ShamsCharania
.

San Antonio blew the Celtics out of the water for what they could offer.

A big now paired alongside Victor Wembanyama in spurts.
Wouldnt sign Luke for that but good for him

Man, good for Luke. I never expected him to get 10M per year. Well deserved. Thanks for the memories Luke!

Yeah it's great for Kornet. I'll miss him, but I don't think he's worth it for our team going forward at that deal. Spurs have a need though and more money to spend

Wow, $10M for a back up center.  I was hoping Kornet would be back but not at that number.

I am all for dumping Simons and Niang and just playing for the lottery.

Clear the books for 2026 and try to make a run a functional players.

Hard to be too upset given how much i think everyone liked Luke and the fact that he really hadn't made much money in the NBA before this deal. Not even a bad contract for a backup center. If the C's weren't trapped by tax/2nd apron concerns probably a contract they'd match.

With Horford being 39 years old and seemingly likely to be gone its going to be interesting to see what they do at center. My guess is they'll at least sign a min free agent, or maybe they have a plan to get one using Simons contract.

I wouldn't mind Bagley if he'd sign for the minimum

Capella got 7M from the Rockets. Who would have thought that one day Luke would be more expensive that Capella.

I know nothing about Garza other than he was a benchwarmer in Minny for 5 years.

Yeah he's flawed too but at this point I don't mind sending Niang + some 2nds to Phoenix for Nick Richards. Phoenix did trade for Mark Williams I believe.

I'd trade Niang for a rack of balls and cones at this point. He is worthless.

Great for Luke, he deserved a nice contract, but bad for the Celtics.  Luke and Payton were my favorite players last season.

Watch Luke drop 30/14/9 on us next year

With the Celtics "bigs" that is going to happen nearly every night.

I?ve been pretty on it going to watch highlights of our new players and rookies, but man, I just can?t do it with Garza and Niang. This is like Bogans and Humphries all over again. Actually, I wish it was Humphries
