Me too.  I wouldn't be upset with Ryan Kalkbrenner, either.

But please, one of those guys.  I'm deferring to the experts about Gonzalez's upside, but if it were me I would have drafted Fleming and then the best remaining center.

All I can think about is how quickly they had that pick in once they were on the clock. Somebody really thought highly of that kid.

That was the pick they got for trading Doc Rivers to LA.

This 100%.   If everything in that part of the draft and into the 2nd round is just a small chance they will end up being a rotation player, at least take two swings at getting us some bigs.  Right now all we have is Queta and Tillman!

I keep seeing positive views on Hugo, but then I read this, and I wonder:  "There is an opportunity for him to play right away in Boston with available minutes on the perimeter and he has similar strengths to another recent Celtics draft pick in Jordan Walsh."

Does this mean, Walsh was a miss?  Seems to me it does.

Hope we get someone that can shoot in the 2nd round tonight. Fingers crossed.

Least we will find out early.

agreed.  round 1 was ridiculously long and sucked having to wait until the end basically (without the joy of a title to take our minds off the wait)

I wonder if this years 2nd round pick is destined to be offered a 2-way contract.  Then round out the roster with vets.  Something like this:

White       Pritchard       Davison
Simons     Scheierman   Walsh
Brown       Craig            Niang
Hauser      Tillman         Tatum (IL)
Kornet       Queta

2-way:  2025 2nd?, Niles Morris?, Peterson?

Fill in (3) 2-way contracts and rotate them through to have a full bench.  Send Hugo back to Spain.  Eventually trade Simons near or at the deadline to get below the tax.  Take a big in the 2026 lottery and see how Tatum looks when he gets back.

I know that Stevens said they want to sign Horford but it really does not make sense for either Horford or BOS.  The only reason either does it is for sentimental reasons.
