According to HoopsHype, the Boston Celtics worked out Cedric Coward ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft.

Via ESPN Jonathan Givony (NBA Combine): Coward 6-6 1/2 wing, shot the ball well in drills (made 72% of his aggregate jumpers) and measured a 7-2 wingspan.
Saw a Ringer mock where he went #15 to OKC.  Another mock had him going to the Nets at #19.  Even if he doesn't go that high, hard to see him falling past the Nets at #26 and #27.

Could be an indication that a deal with the Spurs is in the works with the 14th pick.

IDK they also spoke to Copper Flagg. I think it's mostly likely they're just doing due diligence everywhere

I wonder what would be the piece to move in that deal. Doesn't seem like nearly enough for Brown, and 28 +32 wouldn't be enough to go up.

I've been researching what kind of a haul a player like Brown gets in his prime. Might make it a post at some point. But from what I've seen, something like Castle, 2, and Vassell is pretty close.

Might also be their 14th pick and another asset (future ATL first or Vassell or Sochan) for Jrue (with salary filler going to a third team).

No way JB fetches that much.  I don't think they'd give #2 bi itself for JB.

Yaxel Lendeborg is withdrawing from the draft and transferring to Michigan. Sucks for the Celtics. He was one guy I saw realistically sliding to us at 28 and getting real minutes next year.

They might give up #2. With the New CBA it's going to be hard to have 3 guys in the max. And if all hit it, thats 3 guys you have to give big contracts to three years in a row. JB and Fox will be on the way out as Wimby and Castle are hitting their next  big payday. And San Antonio have several pics that could be really good down the road.

Yeah, I was hoping we could get Yaxel at 28.  But as a Michigan fan, at least I didn?t totally lose.  My nightmare was him going 26 or 27, and missing out on him both in college and the pros.

Well, there goes our Jrue Holiday replacement.

This offseason blows.

he wasn't going to replace holliday as a rookie. and other interesting players are still there.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Completely depends on who the team is, and who the expected #2 pick is.  But I think we get more than just the #2 pick if we traded JB.   I think we undervalue JB.  He is 3 time all star, all-nba, finals MVP.   There aren't that many guys with that resume in the nba and who will quietly play through a knee injury to try and get the team back to the finals.
