I like this pick a lot.

6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan and an elite athlete. Has 3+D wing upside. Only 19 years old. His value will come down to how well he shoots from distance, but a lot of building blocks and is known for playing hard. Seems like an upside pick that probably isn't going to help a lot next year.

For what its worth ESPN had him ranked #22, Sam Vecenie had him ranked #24. So Picking him up at #28 seems like fine value.

Now hopefully one of Raynaud and Kalkbrenner falls to #32.

Fixed it for you. He can?t shoot!  :blank:

A lot of guys who can't shoot out of the draft end up shooting just fine. If he was a 40% shooter he'd be a lottery pick, nobody you get at #28 is going to be perfect.

If he was like low 30?s, fine. But he?s not. Can?t shoot at all. Total project.

Untrue - shooting form looks good. Made some spotups this year.

Solid pick by Brad.

How does it work if he wants to be in the NBA next season but the Celtics want him to stay in Spain?  Can the Celtics just not offer him a contract or is it up to him?

No, teams have to offer a contract to a guy they draft or they lose his rights.

Also reporting indicates he's coming over this season. Its a rebuilding year for the Celtics, I would think they'd want to bring him over and get a look at all their young guys next season. There will certainly be wing minutes to be earned with Tatum out for the year.

Right, coming over for Summer league like Yam Madar and that French Wing player. Bergarin or whatever his name is.

He will be in Boston next season. Pefect time to get him playing time.

Looking at the shooting stats isn't going to tell you much. He hasn't gotten a ton of minutes as a teenager on Real madrid, so his entire career stat line consists of 85 three pointers. In other words, the differecne between a 27% shooter and 37% shooter is EIGHT makes. For what its worth he's shot about 80% from the line also on low volume.

Based on scanning the summaries, I like Rasheer Fleming.

I do also. I hope he is their pick in round 2. But I think he goes to start the second ahead of Boston.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Unless the summer league is in Boston, I would doubt it.

Well you are going to be disappointed then.

What do you think he?s going to be doing in the NBA?

He?s young, so I?m not writing him off. Might turn into something in a few years. I just don?t see him contributing anytime soon considering his minutes were being trimmed in the European league.

So we essentially just drafted a Spanish Jordan Walsh? Awesome! This team is really going places.

Absolutely no idea. Never heard of him. Never seen him play. I?m assuming Brad has and he likes something about him. I?ll wait and see.

I don't see upside with Gonzales.  Nothing great to build on.   A decent bench player at best.

Can?t say that anything that?s happened so far in the offseason has me looking forward to next season.

Euros who do not play for their teams have some of the biggest bust potential in NBA draft picks.

Bright side he is on one of the best teams in Europe. At least it is not a middling team. Then they are pretty much locked on to be a bust.
