I saw some folks wondering if Wemby's injury will lead to CP3 being bought out in the next few days so that he can join a contender as a backup PG since San Antonio is now out of the playoff picture.

Paul would go to the Lakers
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Hope this is indeed an isolated incident that doesn't impact the kid's life or career.  Blood clots are scary.

Yeah, a clot at that age is a bad sign but hopefully it is just isolated. He's a force in the league and having an injury (especially one as random as blood clots) take that away fwoild be horrible.

I would think that'd be really hard mentally on him as a player, feeling like you can still do it but having doctors tell you it's too risky.
I'm bitter.

A return to Houston?

Upgrade on Aaron Holiday. Reed Sheppard not reliable yet. Gives Houston a solid backup behind Fred VanVleet. Right now they struggle whenever VanVleet isn't around.

How about Milwaukee? Lillard can become more of a scorer, and Giannis/Lillard can feed off of CP3's playmaking and facilitation.

Yep. I wouldn't use CP3 much alongside Lillard but CP3 could give them good minutes while Lillard rests. They often do not play with a real backup PG ...

Although they got that guy from the Clippers. The other Porter Jr. I forget his first name [Kevin]. He looked good in the 1st half of tonight's game for MIL vs LAC. Created some easy shots for teammates. So maybe they do have a backup PG now.

I'd still go for CP3. [Kevin] Porter Jr is undependable. Better to have CP3.

That would be great. The Bucks defense would be so bad. Celtics would feast on the Lillard/Paul backcourt.

Given the Spurs luck, I would not be surprised in the slightest if they tumble down the standings and win the draft lottery.

Next season, they have Cooper Flagg lining up next to a healthy Wembanyama.

Vassell
Castle
Flagg
Wembanyama

That lineup looks like a medieval lineup lol. Castle, Fox (animal), Flagg (used often posted on top of castles and used during medieval times), Wemby, Vassell (kind of looks like "vessel")  :P

Also have Champagnie ("champagne" consumed during that time also)

I?ve been thinking the same thing. Spurs have clearly been the beneficiary of incredible lottery luck (and timing).

Let's not forget that the only reason the Spurs had any chance at all of landing Duncan was because David Robinson missed most of the previous season (played only 6 games). So maybe this Wemby injury is the start of a Robinson/Duncan redux.
