Joe taking the blame for the last two defensive play miscues for not having the right matchups out there. No crap. Would've been helpful if you would've noticed the obvious in the moment. Absolutely no reason to have double bigs out there when they're playing a single big and a bunch of lanky perimeter players.

This is a .500 basketball team. Nothing more.

The double big line up does more bad than good. No need to play it at all in the 4th quarter.

I have to wonder what happened to Jaylen.  He was a conference finals MVP and the NBA finals MVP.  I thought he was the heartbeat of the team for that playoff run, even while Tatum was the best player.

Now he's arguably not even a positive on a lot of nights.  His quickness is gone at both ends, that unguardable midrange game has vanished, and he's mulch on defense both on the ball and off the ball.  And I say this as somebody who was always squarely in the Keep Jaylen Brown camp amidst all of the dumbass trade ideas, by the way.  But we're paying him a ridiculous sum of money and not getting much in return.

His off ball defense has always been average to poor at best, but he's made up for it with excellent on-ball defense. But even that is gone this year, as well as his efficient offense.

This is a .750 basketball team with a .250 head coach.

To start the 2nd half, the ball goes out of bounds off Houston--even their own players start going the other way...The REF calls it off Boston, they hit a 3 pointer right away, when the call was wrong...then to end the game, Thompson pushes off Jaylen and hits the shot...weak no call of course.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Why wasn't Springer in for defense? Joe, should've gone small at the end of the game. Live and learn.

Ignore the last couple years, and focus just on this season.  We don't look like a well-coached team.  Our execution in tight situations sucks.
Yup. On the plus side for me I?ve completely changed my expectations for this team so I?m not surprised and not nearly as upset

I?m seeing blame for every one other than our ?mvp candidate? who made 5 shots.
I?m not trying to defend Jaylen by any stretch, he?s a bum this season with a bad attitude, just find it funny

Maybe if you actually watched the game instead of just pushing your narrative you would know that Tatum was *by far* the best player in the second half, yet we inexplicably stopped having him initiate the offense and it became the "JB Show" to try and show up Brooks. Poor *shooting* first half, but he was still an outright positive and is the only starter who actually had a two-possession or more positive +/- out there with a +11.

So, yeah, there's a reason Joe and JB and others are catching the blame, because they were awful down the stretch when it mattered.

Joe Mazzulla said the last few plays of regulation were on him: "I didn't help them at the end. Both those plays, 100% on me. ... I have to be better."

3 years in and still struggles with making adjustments in game.

Y'all gotta be concerned now. 15 losses now? For sure we're not gonna beat the 40-20 Jackson rule (or get beat with 20 L's first).

You?re right, our nba all star stater and supposed mvp candidate, solid job there with 5 buckets.
Not defending brown if you actually read my post instead of just going with your narrative, brown was awful and shouldn?t even be an all star this season, just plain bad, terrible weird attitude and I?m not defending him or the dumb coach?.tatum needs to be better

Again, if you actually watch the game instead of just the box score, you'll understand why your post makes no sense. Poor shooting first half, absolutely. But Tatum breaking down the D and playmaking for others and himself in the second half was the entire reason this was even a game. We win this if we didn't go away from Tatum and what was working.

I'm not that upset by the loss.  We've proven to be a mediocre team for a long time now.  Underperforming well below the talent that's present on the roster.

At this point I just hope that we head into the postseason with good health, and that by April our players and our head coach will have their heads out of their asses.

K, 5 buckets is acceptable for our mvp candidate in a 1 possession game. dude just gets the ultimate pass.
Again. Not putting this game on him, he?s just gotta be better and you can?t just admit that lol
