This is just an idea that makes sense (in my opinion), but I know will not happen.

Celtics

Incoming: Booker, Green

Outgoing: Brown, Holiday

Suns

Incoming: Brown, 2 x Celtics first round picks

Outgoing: Booker

Warriors

Incoming: Holiday

Outgoing: Green

Pistons

Incoming: Payton II, 2 x Warriors second round picks

So we end up with a Kardashian and the most hated guy in the NBA?  I wouldn't enjoy watching that team.

I'm good.  I'll ride or die with our starters.

I am with Roy on this on.  I thought Draymond Green was massively overrated even back when he wasn't that bad, now he truly is Mr. triple single as Poole so famously tagged him.

Booker is a good player, but not better than Brown.

Plus the trade has 2 incoming firsts to PHX and 2 incoming to DET but no first going out so I am not sure I fully understand the trade.  I certainly would not send Brown and 2 firsts to get Booker.

In fairness, I haven?t seen much Booker or Green lately, but my knee-jerk reaction is that I like Brown overall better than Booker and I like Jrue better than Draymond.  So I?d be a no.

Impossible with the current cap rules for both the Celtics and the Suns.

Brown & Booker make the exact same money & it is a one for one trade.

The trade would be legal.

Booker is a much better shooter & passer than Brown. The offensive fit between Tatum & Booker would be better too, as their roles would be more defined than with Tatum & Brown.

Yes, Greens box scores are not that impressive, but Green by definition is an elite role player. He makes everyone around him better. Why do you think Golden State have tolerated his nonsense? Why did they allow Thompson to walk but re-signed Green? It is because he is extremely important on both ends of the court.

Yes, Green is indeed a bully, but so was Garnett. Yes, Green is a rival, but so was Rodman before joining the Bulls. This Celtics team is dying for someone to motivate them into consistent elite play. Horford, Tatum, White & Holiday are more lead by example.

White
Booker
Tatum
Green
Porzingis

This starting five would be comprized of elite passing, something that Celtics basketball is all about.

Can't aggregate players in a trade when you are over the second apron.

This would have to be 2 trades, one straight up Brown ($49.2M) for Booker ($49.2M).  That would work if you wanted to do this trade.

Holiday ($30.0M) for Draymond ($24.1M) does not work straight up.  We could add Springer ($4.0M) and they could add Kyle Anderson ($8.7M) or Buddy Hield ($8.7M) and that would work.

You can look at these individually.  Who would do:

Holiday + Springer
for
Green + Hield

I would not, and would not expect GSW to do this either, but at least it would give us another big so that we could play Tatum as a wing.

I don't see the point.

The current form is the defending champ.   What issue is this fixing?

The issue being this Celtics team should be extremely motivated to repeat but it is quite obvious they are not.

Right or wrong, people view the Celtics title run as very lucky. When you factor in Brown being snubbed by Team USA & Tatum being benched, this season should have been an improvement over the last, instead the Celtics are only 6 losses away from equaling their total from last season with 42 games still to go.

Still don't see the point.   I have more belief in a team that won the title pulling out of this funk then bringing in two new starters and hoping they can form title chemistry in half a season.

Torrey Craig might be a more realistic trade..Lonnie Walker be a good add
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

How about expand this a little:

Torrey Craig and Talen Horton-Tucker
for
Springer and Scheierman + 1st in 202#?
