Team bench is not that good

Trade Springer, bring back Brissett and Walker.

I am not saying that Springer is helping the team or going to help the team in the playoffs, but Brissett and Walker had no opportunity with any team in the NBA.  One is playing in Europe, the other not playing at all.  All 3 of these are fringe NBA players.

If we are going to trade Springer, I say let's try to get an actual NBA player in return, even if it costs us a pick or something.

Just because a guy doesn't sign out of training camp doesn't mean they can't help an NBA team on the fringes.

What "actual NBA player" are we going to get for $4 million?  Just about everybody in that class is either 1) unavailable because they're performing well on a rookie deal; or 2) an end of rotation / non-rotation player.

Drew Peterson has done well. I don't see what O Brissett does that would be an upgrade over Drew.

No need for a Brissett return IMO.

He's a better defender, penetrator, and rebounding and he's better at being in the right spot.  He gave us 11 mpg last year, and played in about 2/3 of our games, which is better than any other non-rotation wing we have.

And of course we could have both.  Both add more than Springer.

Of the two, Brissett and Walker, I think Brissett would be more useful.  The Lonnie Walker fascinations I don't see.  We could sign Brissett if we wanted and he wanted I guess.  Not sure what is going on.  And I do agree that Brissett would be some level of upgrade over Peterson.  That isn't saying much though, to say a player is better than a 2-way player.  The same could be said of Springer, he is better than Davison.

As to what players could be available for $4M (Springer salary) and a pick, I don't know, but I don't think it is worth trading a pick to just get back another fringe player.  If that is all you can get, just keep Springer and keep the pick.  Springer is still only 22, at least he has some ceiling.

Lonnie Walker can score the ball. He was 38% from 3pt last year. Brisett can?t shoot and neither can Springer. The Celtics are not getting much for bench scoring outside of Pritchard. Hauser hasn?t been playing due to back problems, so if Payton misses a game the Celtics will be in a bind.

This team will not repeat...

Unless the DO repeat,

In that case, they WILL repeat.

One thing is certain.  They're the only team with a chance to repeat.  So I'm way more certain that 29 other teams will not repeat than I am the Celtics.
Yup

Precisely this.

Because they lost a mid-season game on a third game in 4 nights?  No - this game is just a learner. Cs have another level that will be on display in the ECF and Finals if they get there.
