way too much over-reaction.  I am bored with the regular season already too.   Hard to be locked in every night.

Tonight too many turnovers, too many lucky orlando shots, and a WHOLE lot of crap non-calls against us in the 2nd half.   move onto the next one.

This same excuse is used every time they lose lol
Always luck for the other team and bad refs if the Celtics lose. So corny.

Almost as corny as people expecting them to win every game.

This is true, but I don?t think it?s corny to expect them to win a game where they have 15 point halftime lead against a team without there 2 best players, Tatum or not?.its just a bad loss in a long season.

I mean, it sucks losing winnable games, particularly when the team makes low effort or bonehead plays.

But, all teams have nights like this.

Well said. This group has always been a little weak in the consistent competitiveness department, long season or not.

Is it safe to say the Celtics should forget about the #1 seed as Cleveland ain't showing signs of sucking and they've only lost four games outta their 30 games? Idk what's in them but they're playing lights out. Think the C's should keep some distance from New York who are 3 games back

Why in the world would they forget about the #1 seed?  What does that even mean?  They should go out every game trying to win.  Three games can be made up in a week.  Cavs will hit a rough stretch and even if they don?t it shouldn?t change the Cs mindset.

I give Cleveland credit for their awesome start, but yeah I mean at some point they have to hit a rough stretch... right? Otherwise they are basically on pace to reach the Warriors record of 73 wins  :o

Well, the odds are this team (or pretty much any team) will not repeat

Part of what makes repeating so hard is, it's hard for teams who won it all to stay engaged the following season and it's easy to develop some bad habits or "laziness"

Look at Denver. People thought that team and Jokic could repeat easily and build a dynasty, yet they went out in the 2nd round last year and even this year look great, not elite though.

Same with Giannis and the Bucks in 2021, since then they haven't been back

Big reason Denver lost a ton of important players from those teams.
Boston has everyone back. Right now they are just lazy. This team doesn't care about the regular season at all.

Yeah, it's hard for them to stay engaged in the regular season. To be fair, most fans probably don't care about the regular season either, it's all about playoffs. The Bucks had most of their team from 2021 back the following season and lost to Boston in 2022 2nd round.

  • GOT IT!!!
I?m not worried about engagement for the playoffs. C?s aren?t repeating without a healthy KP though. This dude just can?t be trusted honestly. They are so afraid that he sits for anything leg related. 20 something hard playoff games? Yikes

They won without him for most of the run last year, but I agree. Tillman helped us last year actually, but unfortunately it seems he's not gonna be counted on this season. Queta to me is still a year away from being playoff-caliber, and Kornet is strictly regular season. They need another PF/C, or maybe just bring back Lonnie Walker again (he's a tall SF/PF too which is good enough)

A team has to hit a rough stretch esp by now/mid December; it's not like they have a roster with prime Curry/Klay/Draymond/Durant or a defending champ coming out the gates. Cavs have only dropped four games so far with the talent they have. Can't discredit them last season they went on a 18-3 run to open the 2024 calendar year. They look legit

I'll fully admit, I'm a pretty optimistic and realistic guy and it's only December. I'm still not gonna change my BOS > OKC in 6 in the Finals prediction either.

BUT... idk... something really does seem off about this team. I get more 2023 vibes from this team than 2024, and even glimpses of 2022 (the bad portions).

I really hope they are just going through the motions and maybe aren't trying as hard because it's December and not April. But if not... they could have a rude awakening when they play a team like CLE/ORL/NY in the 2nd round or ECF. I'm not worried they are gonna collapse or be an early playoff exit but if we're talking a Finals run, they won't make it playing like this particularly on the defensive end and with the poor effort on rebounding/defense.
