A couple of beautiful cuts by J Giddey. He reads the floor so well. Both on the ball and off the ball.

Miami have started this game brilliantly. 17pt lead now early in Q2.

No Lonzo Ball. No Ayo Dosunmu. No Tre Jones.

So Horton Tucker is playing. Dalen Terry as well. Terry has played quite a bit this season but I don't have a good read on him. He tends to just be out there. Peripheral.

Are the Bulls always gonna get bullied by the Heat in the play-in tourneys.

Whoever the 8th seed in the East is that's not Chicago, is gonna get swept.

How do you not play defense at home in an elimination game. That?s crazy!  :o

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Tyler Herro's growth this season has been great. I thought his efficiency would drop off after Jimmy left the team but Herro has maintained it despite being the sole quality shot creator on the team meaning opponent defenses were always targetting him.

Question: Is Herro now on a par with Jamal Murray?

Similar type of player. Combo guards. 6-5. Murray more bulk. Both strong shooters on ball / off the dribble and off the ball movement shooters. Both quality ball-handlers. Maybe Murray a bit better passing wise. Not sure there is much difference defensively.

That is a ridiculous call. The leg kickout on Herro. Awful.

Oh man. What an on-ball block by Davion Mitchell on Coby White. Brilliant.

Terry Rozier out of the rotation for Miami?

Just tuned in to take a look hoping for an interesting ending. Wow - Bulls no match for the Heat tonight. Hope Miami can make the Cavs work for it.   If they beat Atlanta.

Yeah, they dropped him from the rotation. They were starting Davion Mitchell for a while with T Herro at SG after the trade deadline. Then they moved Herro back to PG and went bigger on the perimeter. And Spoelstra chose D Mitchell as his backup PG over Rozier. Rozier has been playing very little since then.

The Mavs vs Kings game could be good. Mavs are more competitive without Kyrie than they are being given credit for.

Comp: T Herro vs J Murray

PPG - 23.9 vs 21.4

Herro scores slightly more but he also does not have much other scorers around him whereas Jamal Murray does.

FGA - 17.9 vs 16.4
3PTA - 8.7 vs 5.9
FTA - 4.2 vs 3.7

T Herro takes a lot more 3s otherwise similar shot profiles. Neither guy gets to the FT line much.

FG% - 47.2% vs 47.4%
3PT% - 37.5% vs 39.3%
FT% - 87.8% vs 88.6%
TS% - 60.5% vs 58.4%

Similar shooting figures. Jamal Murray shoots better from 3 but Hero takes more 3s and thus has a superior TS%.

Assists per game - 5.5 vs 6.0
Turnovers per game - 2.6 vs 2.1

You can see a small advantage in assists and good advantage in turnovers particular AST:TOV ratio for Murray here. Murray gets 2.86 assists to each turnover whilst Herro gets 2.12 assists to each turnover.

RPG - 5.2 vs 3.9

Surprisingly, Herro gets a good number of rebounds.

I'd give Jamal Murray the edge defensively. His superior size (well, bulk) allows him to switch onto bigger players better than Herro. Able to physically fight on opposition drives. Able to play long minutes at SG alongside another small guard. More versatile defender.

The main issue is Jamal Murray is a proven playoff performer while Herro has yet to have a strong playoff showing. He has struggled in the past in the playoffs but this is breakout year. It looks like Herro has turned that corner and become a legit star in his own right.

As you can see by those stats above, these two guys rate closely to one another over the regular season this season.
