Warriors down at halftime. Jazz-Wolves is a close game surprisingly

Clippers have dominated GSW when their starters have been in. They fell apart with their 2nd unit which is where GSW made their big run and built a double digit lead. But other than that, LAC has completely outplayed GSW.

LAC's defense is interesting in how they switch along the sides of the court and try to deny the pass to the wing. They push the opponent way out 4-5 feet beyond the three point line to make the catch. It has been effective in disrupting other team's offenses.

I am surprised Kuminga is not playing. They were long periods in that first half where Steph was struggling and they had little to no shot creation outside of Jimmy. The team was struggling badly. Kuminga's slashing game would have been useful.

Oh wow, that halftime went by quickly. I missed most of Q3.

Jokic watch.

Q3 = He has taken only 1 shot which he missed. Scoreless in Q3. Still on 16pts. He had 14pts on 5-6 FGA in Q1. He is only 1-2 FGA for 2pts over Q2+Q3.

Denver had a huge Q3 and are now up 26pts. So Jokic likely won't play much the rest of the way. Still needs 31pts to get to 30ppg triple double for the season. Will not get there.

Update: There was 1:30 left in Q3 when I posted this. Jokic made a jump shot. 2pts more. 18pts for the game. Needs 29pts in Q4 which he will likely play little to none of given DEN's big lead.

Update: Jokic does not play Q4. He finishes with 18pts. 29pts shy of the 47 he needed to average 30ppg and put up a 30ppg triple double season.

Nuggets beat Houston by 20pts.

There is nobody in that LAC 2nd unit that can defend Jimmy Butler.

* Norm Powell = too small, too weak
* Bogdanovic = too slow, too weak
* Derrick Jones Jr = not enough strength
* Harden = not good enough defensively

They need a wing with more physicality to matchup against Jimmy. Kawhi might be the only guy on the team who has that. I can't think of anyone else.

Amir Coffey? Not great but probably better than the other guys.

In a playoff series, LAC might need to match minutes between Kawhi and Jimmy in order to stop Jimmy feasting on their weaker wing defenders.

Clippers with a big lineup now

G: Harden
G: Derrick Jones Jr
F: Bogdanovic
F: Kawhi
C: Zubac

No small guards. No Kris Dunn. No Norm Powell.

Harden is the smallest guy. What is he? 6-5 230lbs?

------------------------------

Meanwhile, GSW stay small against that big lineup

G: Steph
G: G Payton II
G: Podz
F: Jimmy
C: Looney

One small undersized big. One short forward. 3 guards = 2 combo guards and a PG in Steph.

Nuggets and Wolves win.

Winner of Golden State vs. LAC makes the last spot, loser hosts Memphis in the play-in

Wow, Clippers ball denial defense on the wings kept the ball out of Steph's + Jimmy's hands for the entire possession.

Podz has to force it at the buzzer. Miss.

Clippers have gone back to their regular starting lineup. Dunn and N Powell in the backcourt. Harden & Kawhi at forward. Zubac in the middle.

GSW have gone smaller again with Draymond coming in for Looney. They still have the 3 guard backcourt with Steph, Podz, and G Payton II. Jimmy as their sole wing player.
