Zach Berman: Jeffrey Lurie on report linking him to buying the Celtics: ?No, I?m not really interested in acquiring another sports team. I think it?s connected because they?re my childhood team. I?ve got a tremendous amount of respect for their whole culture. I sort of see it as like a kindred soul in the NBA. Wyc (Grousbeck) has been an outstanding owner. I love the way they?ve developed that team. And we?ve got to celebrate so many banners over the years. It?s not something that?s top of mind. And my whole focus is on my love of the Eagles and to win another Super Bowl for Philadelphia. And I?m obsessed.? 6 hours ago ? via x.com

Another Bill Simmons story non-story, huh?

Reading about it on Yahoo. They say he Chisholm was born and raised in Massachusetts and is a die hard Celtic fan. So that would be good.

Well, new ownership sucks. Hope the attendance is awful next year.  And of course the Lakers get a new owner who will spend.  :blank:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

What did you expect?  It was OBVIOUS that the salary was unsustainable.  That was the case even had we repeated.  Under the current circumstances you simply cannot blame ownership for these decisions.  I?d do the same thing.

I expected Jrue and maybe Hauser. Even when healthy, a core of Pritchard, White, Brown, Tatum, and Kornet(assuming they bring him back) isn?t a contender. Will be lucky to be a 4 or 5 seed. Just not enough talent.

More like the New Rules of the New CBA sucks...Not the fault of the new ownership....Maybe Brown and Tatum could have taken a little less money? Brunson did.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

You think Mark Walter is going to worry about spending with the Lakers? If he runs them like the Dodgers, I would doubt it. Maybe he will ask Luka and LeBron to take less money..  :P
