ASSUMING the long-standing precedent of teams being down 0-3 losing the series and we close it out within the next two games, what would you prefer: a sweep in Dallas or a win at home in Game 5?

While a sweep is probably the smartest decision given KP?s injury and the narratives would be awesome given how many people picked the Mavs, I have to admit that I?m almost leaning towards a home win in Game 5 to close it out. Just imagine that environment with us winning # 18 at home! I can imagine us bringing in a lot of the Celtics greats - KG, Pierce, Rondo, Smart (💔) - showing them at points throughout the game on the Jumbotron and them keeping that crowd raucous and rowdy the entire time. Would be special - even if just watching it from home.

What do you think?

A sweep is the safest way. We almost came back from down 3-0 last year. It will happen someday. The Celtics need to come out like a pack of wild dogs and end this!

Sweep. Love to win it on their court. Watching Irving and Luka crying about some call costing them the series would amuse me no end. Plus, closing it out only losing 2 games and winning 11 in a row, would be amazing

I'd prefer to just win.  It's going to be a short summer, particularly for JT and Jrue, so the sooner it begins the better.  Plus, they can keep their win streak going and finish out 16-2, which would be cool.

I get celebrating on the home court, but they will receive plenty of cheers on the duck boats.

End it Friday with the sweep and argue all offseason which team was better 85/86 or 23/24.  Fun times for Celtics fans.

Game 4 is too late for my 7 year-old to watch,  but we are headed to the West Coast next week, meaning she could see all of Game 5.  She?s a huge fan (and is terribly concerned about JD Davison?s roster status next year), knows who all the refs are and which ones to yell at, and it would be fun to share the excitement of a clinching game with her.

So I?m voting game 5 for personal reasons, but a sweep would be fun, and would give us the third-longest winning streak in a single postseason in NBA history.  It?s a win-win.  Let?s just not go 6.  That would be much less fun.

Not Smart. He is currently a player on an opposing team. Don?t get me wrong, I love Marcus, but that is just not appropriate and I REALLY doubt Marcus would want to be there.

It's still 85/86. But still fun times!

Wake her up a few minutes before clinching?

That is definitely the plan for tomorrow, but it would still be more fun to see the entire game.  As I say, win-win.  I?ve felt very confident that we?d win this series in four or five since the matchup was set, so tomorrow?s game is essentially house money for me emotionally.

That's not too late for her, particularly on a Friday night... she can stay up for a few more hours for sure. It's not like an habitual thing, but I don't know what her schedule is the next day or her circumstances.

Just my opinion.

Okay, for starters, what kind of superpower parenting skills do you have that you can get your 7 year old in bed that early on a weekend/summer night?! It?s a win if my wife and I can get my 6 and 9 year old in bed before midnight this summer haha

But I definitely get what you mean. Both of my boys are hardcore baseball players and aren?t super interested in basketball - no idea where that came from - but my 9 year old sat on the couch and watched last night?s win with me and it was great.

Let her stay up. That?s a memory you?ll always have together. I?ve already told my wife and boys they have to watch game 4 and share that memory with me - screaming at the tv and all! ;D

She has a soccer game at 8:30 the next morning and then a cross-country flight in the evening.  She needs her sleep.  And with a regular bedtime of 8:30 that she keeps virtually every night, it?s pretty unlikely she could power through the entire game anyway.

I?ll be happy if we win in 4 or 5.  Ultimately I?ll be happy if we win in 7, because that banner will always be there.  If I had to pick the optimal option for me, it would be 5, but the Celtics shouldn?t be concerned about little old me.  Believe me, I like watching Kyrie get swept!

Eh, it?s not like they were competitive this year or one of our rivals. Actually given our relationships with Memphis? team/front office, I think Memphis is probably one of our better organizational relationships in the league.

And I would bet that Smart would absolutely want to be here to support his friends/former teammates - hard feelings be danged.
