I feel bad for Tua, but he really needs to consider retirement. And I think the correct football move for the Dolphins is to release him ASAP, because they could very well end up with little ROI.

They're not gonna outright release him right now. The cap hit would be crippling with the dead money.

I admit that I don't know much about NFL cap rules, which seem confusing as heck, but wouldn't it be financially bad for Miami no matter what? Either they release him and have lots of dead money, or they don't release him and instead pay him tons to not play/play at a diminished capacity due to all the concussions?

One big issue is that signing bonuses are spread out over the length of the contract, but all future years (of the spread-out bonus) come due at once if you cut the player. And while $40-50 million per year for a few years is hard, it wouldn't make team building impossible like a $100 million hit in one year would.

I think that's the case for guaranteed money, too, which makes things even more difficult.
I'm bitter.

Thanks for this explanation, it helps. TP

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel on the Tua retirement talk.

I think it would be so wrong of me to even sniff that subject, and it?s more in line of actually caring about the human being and that?s something that entirely you?re talking about his career, right?" McDaniel said. "His career is his, and that?s something that I really, really, really wish I totally understand it, and it?s not misplaced.

"I totally get how that?s where people want to go to. I just wish that people would for a second hear what I?m saying that bringing up his future is not in the best interest of him, so I?m going to plead with everybody that does genuinely care, that that should be the last thing on your mind, because what do you think if I were to answer that question? I?d be like, All right, this is my thoughts on his career? and he read it. If he agreed with it or he disagreed with it, either way I?ve just made him worse.

"So, I?m not taking this opportunity. I don?t think it?s appropriate simply because of my care and regard, and I don?t think those types of conversations when you?re talking about somebody?s career it probably is only fair that their career should be decided by them."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Kansas City Chiefs has overtaken Dallas Cowboys for most hated team in the NFL according to betonline dot ag lol.

True since they have Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift love fest and the nauseating Chiefs fans.

Niners losing. Giants winning. Cowboys getting throttled. Ravens tied. Packers without Love still up. Jets, Jags and Lions also down. Crazy start to the Week 2 Sunday...

Only consistency is the Panthers still blow

And New England being able to start off the game with opening drive TDs each game before settling for FGs the rest of the way  :-[

Lions driving down 20-16 with 10 minutes left, Goff with a TERRIBLE interception at the Bucs' 25.
