Looks like Mac is getting his confidence back. He started yesterday for the Buc?s and went 16-23, threw for 210 yards, 2TD?s, No Ints, passer rating of 127.

The Jags are currently a much better operation than the Pats and they actually have a solid O-Line plus ACTUAL weapons at WR.

If Mac Jones has to fill in for Lawrence and does well, that's gonna be a further indictment on Belichick. Not saying Mac Jones is elite but he's definitely not a putrid QB as he's looked. Even a lot of the current young QBs like Tua, Hurts, Prescott, Josh Allen, etc. took their leaps once they added legit offensive coaching to the staff AND weapons (Diggs, Tyreek, Smith, AJ Brown, etc.)

Mac Jones meanwhile had a trash O-Line and Parker/JuJu as his #1, and the best guy he had (Meyers) Belichick decided to just replace him with JuJu lol

I wouldn?t be surprised if he does well in a stable situation with some weapons and a decent O-line.

Ewwww?just realized I described the Bucs as stable vs the current state of the Patriots. My, how times have changed.

Kinda like his rookie year.  :D

Mac is playing for the Jags not the Bucs.

Right, I meant Vs not For. I fixed it, thanks.

So Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix are slated to start week 1. JJ McCarthy looked like he was going to beat out Darnold as well. Shame he got hurt.

I am not too worried about what the other rookie QBs do.  Daniels and Nix are older, played a lot more college games, you expect them to be more ready.  Williams may not be any more ready than Drake Maye, but CHI really has no other option.  Maye is either going to be a good NFL QB or he isn't, same for all of them.  I pretty much expected that he was the least NFL ready of the top QB picks, the most raw.  We have seen the tools on display, he can run, he can throw, he is competitive, all that looks great.  But it does not seem that he is quite ready to be an NFL QB right now, at least based on what I have seen so far.

I am not worried at this point.  It still seems like he can become a very good NFL QB, I have not seen anything yet that worries me (simply being behind developmentally relative to the other top picks does not worry me at this point).  All these QBs have a lot still to prove, basically they all have everything still to prove.  At this point, you can't assume anything about any of them.  They will either develop into good NFL QBs, show they can handle the speed of the game, show they have the durability to hold up, or they won't.

I'm intrigued to see what he can do. I kind of think having a coach like Sean Payton is great for a QB like him.

I wanted Jayden Daniels for NE but unfortunately we never got that chance because Ryland just had to make that 56 yard GW against Denver late in the season. Oh well.

Think the Pats would've still picked Drake Maye with #2 lolol

Maye was the consensus #2 pick through the season and part of the off-season.  It wasn?t till pretty close to the draft that the winds began moving in Daniels direction. Many still thought Maye should be picked 2.  So it wouldn?t have been shocking for the pats to have picked Maye if they had the second pick.  And I could have been right for them to do so.

Btw, if head to head was the first tiebreaker in the draft rules as it is in other tiebreakers, the pats would have had the number 2 pick.

After doing fantasy football yesterday.....the league is so deep in talented skill players.

The problem is none of them are on the Patriots (only Rhamondre tbh.)

I took Stevenson as well, and also Douglas in a late round. Tbh the team will be terrible but I think as long as those two stay healthy they will put up some big numbers even in losses. Those two are like our best players on offense lol, maybe others emerge but I doubt it.

I like Gibson and he's gonna be a versatile pass-catching RB for us, and Elliott left in FA so I think we could see close to another 2022 season from Stevenson where he is the horse and has a ton of carries each game.

NYT today ranked each starting quarterback in the NFL.  No surprise...Mahomes 1st and our boy Brissett 30th.
