He also tweaked his right leg. Wonder if that's bothering him or going to impact his game if he does indeed go to war in Game 3. That was the image I provided a few pages back.

Here's the pessimistic view.

That?s a huge shift from what the other doctor said. How can the opinions be so different?

Wow, and everyone thought he got injured it that other play. So freaky, you can see how his knee reacted to the bump.

Kornet's main job will be to keep Lively or Gafford off the boards.  They don't have a big who can score like Mobely or Turner. Offensively he'll be a pick and roll guy. So you lose a 3 point shooter without Porzingis, which means they'll have 4 guys out there who can make 3's vs 5.

Also keep in mind that he's playing bench minutes. He won't be out there with the game on the line. The only times all season where Kornet has been a liability is vs the top 4's or 5's who are scorers. And earlier in the playoffs he contributed enough offensively to offset whatever defensive problems he had.

Technically still 5 guys who can shoot 3s if you count the current starting 5. But yeah, minus KP off the bench then it's just Hauser and Pritchard in that core 8.

I still think Boston is a better team than Dallas is even without him.

Something like this could bring Boston closer and more focused

One of the J?s has to go big scoring.

Everyone has to level up

Win without him and the series is over

Interesting breakdown from one of those twitter sports doctors. He seems to think he can play on it

What I heard this guy say was that the risk of this manifesting into a more serious injury was low in his opinion, but there is risk.

My prediction is that he will play, but they won't say for sure until game time (to keep DAL guessing) but that he is going to be gimpy.

So my wife explained it, that its stabilizes the ankle. Walking you wont see anything, its the side to side thats really effected, and jumping. so it would come down to is it stable enough to play on with support, and can he manage the pain.

They're guessing based upon an injury they've probably never heard of, let alone seen.  Based upon the reported rarity of the injury, I doubt that doctor has actually treated this before.

I think tomorrow will be a blowout game one way or the other.

Joe should've used the bench more this year so he could trust them more than I think he does. I would not be afraid to play Q or X some. They are both more athletic than Luke. Q matching up against Lively would be fun to watch. If the 3s are falling in game 3 then it won't matter.

The injury is very rare and the effects are very different from case to case...

Would think a really good tape job would restrict ankle mobility and minimize risk of further injury. Spit ballin' here.

I do too, but things are a lot closer.  My expectation is that Porzingis is going to make a valiant effort to play, but that he will be too gimpy to be effective.  I have my doubts we will get much out of him, but of course, no way to know until he gets on the court.

If we play 7 guys, that is on average 34 min per.  But I don't think we really want to play Pritchard and Hauser for 30+ minutes.  Not trying to get ahead of myself, but if Porzingis is too gimpy to be effective, we are going to have to play some combination of Kornet / Tillman / Brissett.

That is not the end of the world, but makes us much easier to defend.  We end up with a player they don't really have to worry about.  These guys are not going to shoot much or score much but they can help the team by getting a few offensive rebounds.  If they start getting offensive boards, they will have to pay attention to them.

Not the ?Joe should?ve used the bench more? nonsense.  Tillman was acquired at the deadline and arrived hurt, while Q was a 2-way guy who a) was limited in the amount of games he was allowed to play because he was a 2-way, b) makes a ton of rotation mistakes and will get eaten alive by Luka, and c) wasn?t even playoff eligible until the last week of the season.

Luke will get minutes if KP can?t go, and we will win in 4 or 5, just like we would with KP.

Tomorrow needs to be one where the Celtics just score and score.
