I don't like this system of forfeited draft picks for tampering just being taken off the board completely. There will be two young guys that lose their chance to get drafted tonight because the Sixers and Suns got caught tampering in free agency. Those two picks should be re-distributed to some other teams instead of removed imo. Give them to the bottom teams in the league.
Is there any advantage to being a 2nd round pick over an UDFA? There are no guaranteed contracts so those two players are actually better off getting to choose their destination over having their rights owned by a team where the fit might not be optimal. Am I missing something?

You're assuming someone will want to give a look to the undrafted players. Although not a guaranteed contract, second round picks at least are assured summer league and training camp invites and most often get at least a two-way deal or D-league contract, if not a regular NBA contract, because teams don't like wasting their draft picks.

Hoping for Mantas Rubstavicius, based only on his name.

A project big sounds perfect, then sign another undrafted one.

Anton Watson, apparently?  He wasn't on my radar.  I don't know anything about him.

The kid from Gonzaga?

He?s basically a defender with zero offense

Watson's ability to defend guards, wings and big men stands out along with his passing ability, intensity and willingness to do the little things, a big reason he won 130 of 149 games in his decorated college career. He will not stand out on tools or scoring ability, but he is a team-first player who will have a chance to carve out an NBA career if he can prove his 41% 3-point accuracy on limited attempts from beyond the arc last season was not a fluke. -- Jonathan Givony

I haven't seen him in any mock drafts.  No clue who this is.

Watson will be a fan favorite. Works hard and plays with ton of energy. He is primarily a defensive minded player

He?s also 23 with a ton of college experience. Just one of those guys you like to have on your team.
