Could work out for the Celtics and Bridges if he can behave for one year and help the Celtics win a championship by coming off the bench. Horford,  Hauser, Bridges, suddenly gives us a legit bench and 8 man rotation for the playoffs.

Bridges will get a nice contract from some desperate team, Celtics a ring and the Hornets get some assets for a player they don't want to resign. Even if it's a first plus second rounders I think you have to pull the trigger for our first ring in a long time.

I would like to see a third option added to the poll.

-“No. we have great chemistry, let’s not mess with it”

That would be my pick.

Voted no, but not because I think Bridges is crazy, but because I think he has a documented history of violence against women and he's not shown any obvious contrition or commitment to changing his behaviour.

I do not want people on my favorite team that I would not be comfortable cheering for. Pass.

Trading for Miles Bridges who pled "no contest" for domestic violence and has further charges pending is idiotic.  Celts don't need him or all the negative publicity that would come with trading for him.  I'd certainly hope the Celts wouldn't come close to the championship if they made that trade.  Winning isn't worth compromising your integrity.

Putting that to the side, Miles Bridges wouldn't be a good addition.  We've got more than enough offensive firepower as is.  Bridges focus will be on his next contract not winning a championship.  He's much better off on a bad team where he can get all the minutes he wants and put up the most stats possible.

I'm fine trading for a rental, just don't see the point of Bridges.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Bridges is playing for a contract. Don’t think he’d want to even come to the Cs to be coming off the bench. That’s not even considering his past documented off court issues.

But, if there’s a deal that could get the Cs that caliber type player (for all his warts off court, Bridges is a pretty solid two way player) for that package, the Cs should strike. Go all in.

Some people might say that the Celtics already did that for Kristaps - so we are looking for a KP-level talent to come off the bench for us? Is that realistic? Do many guys at that level of play come off the bench?

Disagree. He could showcase his talents on the biggest stage of all. If he won a title with us his value would sky rocket.

Hes a bruce brown level talent. Hes a dog on the court. Also a dog off the court however.

I see no reason to do this trade.  Even if he didn't have serious issues, we don't have a role for him.  But he does have serious issues so it makes no sense for several reasons.

He is clearly a talent so he is going to get another chance somewhere.  I don't know how all the rules work but I am assuming that CHA cannot offer him an extension at this point (or anyone who might trade for him) so he is going to be and UFA.  I could see teams offering much more than what the Celtics could/would offer.  Pritchard and a future pick in the 25-30 range just isn't going to do it.

And would he have trade veto power due to Bird Rights?  That is another CBA thing that I never seem to fully understand.

I do not think Bridges is on the level of KP type talent. I think he’s a solid player. But also thinking along the lines of Horford aging out and looking for a replacement a year early who can come off the bench and eventually take the role of Al.

except the C's immediately extended KP, so he is not a rental nor playing for a contract.

He's not crazy. He's guilty of a felony. Medicalization provides an alibi for what he did.

Hard pass. Some things are more important than basketball. I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole.
