I dont give a credit for a max player who sleepwaked for 47 minutes and  later made a 3 and a block.

His turnovers, especially when he dribbled through 3 players just showed his stubbornness, which he may have copied from his coach.

Joe needs to scrap the 3pt shoot barrage game plan and incorporate KP playing down low to get easy 2s. We need to play to our individual player's strength.

The fact that the Celts acquired Porzingis and Holiday and have apparently not changed a failed offensive philosophy is exactly the problem with Joe.
How could Brad make such smart roster changes and at the same time believe that an incompetent coach will somehow become effective ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Got a great look.

Btw, if this was the Celts that let the Sixers back, this thread would be crucifying the Cs.

C’s fought back and got a really good look to tie this game. 3 point loss in Philly.

Are you gonna give them a cookie for only losing by 3 to a 6ers team that desperately wanted to choke the game away?
Yay! They’re so good

Would you rather them NOT fight back to make a game of it?  lol omg

I appreciate the fight but I’m not going to credit them for starting to try when the game was already decided

Well it wasn't decided until after the KP 3.  He hits that we are in OT.   Look I agree with you, the team played like crap in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.   We need way better man and ball movement on offense especially from all the dribble isos from JT and JB.  But they did play well in crunch time.  We have an outstanding team with a LOT of potential.  They didn't play like it tonight.  But Philly has a good team, and they played well too.  These last two losses easily could have been both wins.

Yeah and the Knicks and heat games easily could’ve been losses.
The Celtics are ok, they’re very thin and will need to remain perfectly healthy all season to get close to their goals.

It’s troubling when the Celtics get out scored in fast break points, when it’s been the team’s biggest weapon against Embiid for years.

The biggest take away from Today's game
Jaylen Brown was a huge over pay

We all knew that

But they had to do it rather than lose him for nothing and be unable to replace him because they were already over the cap

Joe making fun of Gary when Gary asks why they settled for too many 3s, said thst he wrote an article back in 2016 saying thst the Celtics shot too many 3s, asks him “that was 7 years ago…so what’s your fascination with too many 3s Gary?…you blamed the offense but not the defense…you wer ahead of the curve, they shot 42 threes then ans only 7 more tonight”

Also said he thought tonight was one of their better played games from an execution and mindset standpoint, had a well managed game, connected defensively, came down to a number of plays

Here we go again

While Ime not keeping it in his pants was the primary issue, Brad removing the interim tag from Joe so early was another big issue.

Missing out on Nurse is a big miss. He's of the same ilk as Ime being a tough, defensive-minded coach, but he's much more polished offensively. I think he would've been an excellent coach for this group.

Let Horford retire and clear off his salary

Trade Brown, Kornet, Pritchard and Pritchard - try to get back a solid starting big plus one or two strong bench contributors

Fire Mazulla, let Cassell take over as head coach

Something's not right with Joe. He may have potential, but he has some red flags too.

How the Celtics management or P/R team handled that nonsense was questionable too. I would've been OK with him getting suspended for 41 games and go through training and get back to coaching the C's.

But nah, suspend him entire year and then just let him go and coach the Rockets. Like why.

Well to add some more to this crap sandwich, Embiid was clearly out of bounds on the last play, too. We should’ve had the ball again for a chance to tie with three or four seconds left. Good job, good effort, incompetent refs.

Philly have a nice bench

C: Paul Reed
F: R Covington
F: N Batum
G: P Beverley

Then their 3rd stringers

C: Mo Bamba
F: Marcus Morris
F/G: Kenyon Martin Jr
F/G: Danuel House
G: Korkmaz

Some other small guard named Springer. I do not know him.

Philly have 14 legit NBA guys. 13 of whom are rotation caliber guys. Korkmaz not being rotation caliber. That is a lot of quality depth.
