I like what Oshae brought to the game. crashing the boards, rebounds, one dunk.

would definitely like to see more of him.

am I crazy? am I just being a cranky old timer? Does this bother anyone else?

Post game questions by the Boston media specifically Bobby Manning but he's not alone in this. It feels they make up their questions on the spot, struggle to properly communicate the question, the question is insanely long and more a statement the player cant follow, or they stir the pot asking questions they know the player cant answer or will deflect.

These are professional media and it feels like High School newspaper time. This makes post game something I've skipped out on since the bubble.
ok fine

I will add though, hearing Doris Burke just spew her obvious Celtics hate and then acting like it was an "obvious no-call" on the White foul was nauseating. And even the refs were like "unsuccessful challenge" like duh  it's gonna be brutal hearing her call Celtics games she's still mad they beat her Sixers last Spring
Not sure what you were listening to.  Doris was extremely complimentary of the Celtics.  She was correct on the White foul.  The ref ought to have made the call immediately when it occurred not waited until White lost the ball into the back court to make the call.

The refs should have made the call earlier but they didn't.  It doesn't change the fact that it was still a blatant foul.  If white had kept possession they weren't going to call the foul IMO which is BS.  If they had let it go it would have been a major mistake for the would to see on TV.  The celtics were on the wrong end if a ton of calls last night.

Porzingis had an atrocious game defensively. If he's going to guard Bam he needs to drop back more. We should be encouraging Bam to take more jumpers, not less.

Scal was - correctly - advocating for the C's to put a smaller guy on Bam. Get a quicker guy underneath him and keep him away from the rim.

That also frees up our best shotblocker to help as needed. Just terrible strategy.

Also not pleased with our offensive decision-making. Our guys continue to dive into double teams, throwing themselves into disadvantageous positions in the paint with no escape plan. We need to be smarter. I don't know why we do this against Miami.

If I can see an ill-advised play developing from my couch,  an NBA player should be able to recognize that too.

Glad we got the win despite all the unforced errors. But we need to be better.

The issue is when they don't have White or jrue initiate the offense.  JT and JB dribble for 10 seconds versus jrue and dwhite running a play.  It's maddening.  Give White and jrue the dang ball.

I hate how refs wait to see what happens on an obvious foul before blowing the whistle. They do it too often, same on waiting to see if ball goes through the hoop fouls.

Why is it we can't guard guards from Kentucky...Herro, Quiclkey, Maxey?

Not a fan of Manning ,  he looks 14 and reasons at about that level,  boring and unwatchable for me as well.

I'm hoping I can get through an entire season without having to listen to Doris Burke at all. If she's doing a game I flip to something else. Of course it's nice when you're local and have the choice of Mike Gorman & co instead.

It's crazy to remember how down some people were about Derrick White after his first half year here. It's funny to even think about now that he's become such a amazing role player for us.
It’s amazing people think the Cs gave up too much in that deal. White is my favorite Celtic. Love the way he plays. I just assume he’s gonna do the right thing every time he has the ball.

I feel the same way. I’m have so much trust in his decision making . I think we can let these two point guard skilled guards run the show a little bit more, but loving the Celts so far.

As Brown, Horford, and Tatum played patty-cake with the ball late in the 4QTR last night (why can't they value the ball more?!?!!) I noticed that White and Jrue saw that too.

Our two guards seemed to have the ball more in the final three minutes, and I thought FINALLY!

Tatum with his loopy passes.  Jaylen forcing the issue and either losing the ball or putting up a wild shot.  Even Horford trying to help and then throwing a bad pass himself (which is unlike him).

We only have really one "killer" on this team late in the shot clock and it's Tatum.  Other than that, I want the ball in the hands of our two best decision-makers in White and Holliday at the end of games.

The other three should just get ready to catch and shoot, or crash the offensive glass.  I include Tatum in that because I'd much rather him catch and shoot than dribble the ball for 10 seconds in a 1-on-1 matchup (especially when the Heat like to do a delayed-double team, so he has to pass with four secs left on the shot clock).

Didn't get to watch a lot of the game but I did notice that Brissett was effective while he was in. I see that Joe gave the 3 subs he used (not counting Horford) double digit minutes and that collectively the bench guys were all positive in the plus/minus - so I'm going to tip my hat to Joe for effectively working these guys in. Still think PP needs more minutes but at least Joe seems to have adjusted and is using his bench like a normal NBA coach - at least through 2 games.

This!  I had not read your post here until I wrote the one I just posted above.

Totally agree.  And you were more succinct than I was!

I’ll bet no one thinks that anymore.

I think some ppl will still think about the pick swap in 2028 to see if it was worth it. Getting rid of Langford, Richardson was a no-brainer. Their 2022 pick was used to draft Blake Wesley who is meh.

I was going to say that - that the 2028 pick is still looming for some - but I just can’t imagine anyone here arguing that you don’t make the trade. In any case, it is interesting that with Wemby, and then with where some Cs contracts will end, the disaster scenario is possible (Cs swap a high lottery pick for a high 20) but still pretty unlikely.

I really don't get how Bam gets away with as much as he does.

The king of the moving screen.  Too bad they’re not calling them on him like they have been with Horford.
