Heat (1-0) at Celtics (1-0) Game #2 10/27/23

The starters were great but the bench was awful.  Literally had 8 points. Just need to get more out of these guys.

Love Paul Pierce - the guy grew up a Lakers fan, wanted a trade halfway thru his Celtic career and is now one of our beloved legends in the rafters.
Pierce and Garnett brought this franchise back from the dead. So glad they retired both jerseys.

Delighted with another win against a difficult and persistent Heat who refused to go away. We would have lost that game with last season's roster. Ecstatic that Derrick White got his points. He will be a vital cog this season

Every starter for the C’s had 17 or more points. They have no weak link on offense in that starting 5.

Between he crazy man-love for Lowry and her berating us about the refs bad call on the play where D White was fouled, I am just hoping for no more ESPN games.

For sure.  If DWhite is the 5th best player on your team, your team is scary AF.  He's one of the most well rounded players in basketball period.

Payton and Sam didn’t do much again - but I’m still all in giving them minutes. Al also didn’t play effectively.  Brissett with a nice game.  Hope Joe stays with Sam and PP - I they’ll both contribute.

It was clear to me that the Celtics wanted this one badly.  Played the starters a lot of high effort minutes.  Pritchard and Hauser weren't really asked to do anything even when they were in the game... and in fairness, when literally everybody in the starting lineup was cooking at some point in the game, maybe that's not such a bad thing.  Only so many shots to go around.

I think Pritchard and Hauser will get more run and more responsibility against most other opponents on the schedule.  I did think they did their jobs defensively for the most part, though PP's lack of size is a disadvantage against Miami.

I completely disagree on the bench. Al had 10 rebounds. Brisset outworked guys down low and had 5 rebounds. He also helped energize the team and criwd. Joe is also mixing the starters and bench players on the floor so there is always st least two All star caliber scorers. Sometimes it's not how many points the bench contributes but the quality of the minutes they provide.

We have to give other players minutes unless we want our top six to be playing 35-49min a night  they don’t have to do anything more than be competent really, if there will always be 2 of the top 6 with them at any given time
