It's crazy to me Hauser has seemingly survived all this movement the last two years

Either no one around the league wants him or they just see something in him, even though he's pretty useless when the 3s aren't falling and Baylor's ceiling is higher

Hauser's defense is demonstrably better than Baylor's.  Baylor was a turnstile in the playoffs.  Basketball requires both offense and defense and people still forget that Hauser has a reputation as a solid defender, who can stay between his man and the basket.

Also, Hauser shot 39.3% from three last year, which is pretty good.  This after shooting 41.6, 42.4, 41.8, 43.2 the four previous years.

Baylor shot 39.9% (97 for 243) last year.
Hauser shot 39.3% (198 for 504) last year-- twice the attempts.

I will concede that Baylor is more effective at attacking closeouts.  That's something where Sam will tend to get run off the three-point line and look to pass the ball-- which is not a bad thing.  It keeps the ball movement going.

So Sam is a better defender.  Baylor the better rim attacker.

But Baylor has only one year of good three-point shooting on his resume.  Sam has five consecutive.

Let's see how Baylor does this year-- and yes I hope he plays better than Sam.  All the better for the Celts if Sam shoots 40% from three and Baylor shoots something like 44%.  I'll never root against Baylor, he's just not there yet as a true Hauser replacement.

He makes a small enough amount where it has not been essential they move him. And he provides enough production where you can justify having him on the roster for that price.

I also do not think he would get more than a second round pick in a trade. They?ll probably keep him until Scheierman or Walsh clearly pass him on the depth chart.

Brad and Joe love Hauser. He?s a high IQ player, solid defender, never turns the ball over, career 41% from 3pt and is a relatively cheap contract. Sam is a good role player. The fanbase might not value Hauser, but the organization does.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Banton finally got waived.

According to a league source, the Celtics are waiving guard Dalano Banton, who was on a non-guaranteed deal.
Celtics' roster dips back to 14 players, and timing allows Banton to seek a new opp now.

Weird timing to me. Does that mean there is another move coming?

This gets them under the luxury tax.
