That feel can be developed as you get better you get more confident and assert your game more. We have seen this recently with Scheierman, Queta, and Walsh and all these guys games improved.
I don't think people grasp what going up a level in sports mean that well. These guys were top dogs in high school, some were top dogs in college and they are exploring being pros. Every level you go up the guys are bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled there is some adjustment as you move up. You even see this variance in college levels from DIII to DI. Even guys like Jordan only scored 13.5 PPG his freshmen year at UNC. Though it has been said Deam Smith was the only man who could keep to under 15 PPG. JK

The tools are there, he just needs to work at his craft and figure if he is a 4 or 5 or stretch 4.
