Hugo needs to hit the weight room hard, He needs to work at adding strength but must balance this with not getting too much mass which would slow him down.
The effort is there in terms of his play. His three point shot needs work as well.
He's 19. He'll fill out. Remember Tatum when we drafted him? The bulk will come.
Kid has a lot of potential. Just work on that shot.
I agree with you. Did you know it can be harmful to lift real heavy weights until your body is fully grown. We had a ranger in the army who torn his pecs for this very reason.
He definitely showed that man strength is something he needs to work on though.
Who in the NBA is a good comp for Hugo (6'6" / 201lbs)?
Christian Braun (6'6" / 220lbs) maybe? Like Hugo, Braun is not known as a great shooter, but check out his highlights, lots of defense, running the floor, and flashing to the rim.

Braun Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWtSInh4Zfk
Braun is a career 38%+ from 3pt. He?s a good shooter.
Right, I said he's not known as a "great" shooter. 38% is good, but not great. What am I missing?
I mean, He was 40% from 3pt last year. That?s elite. Not a good comp for Hugo who can?t shoot at all. I?d say a very poor man?s Josh Giddey. Took Josh several years to figure out how to shoot, but he could pass and rebound at a high level. Hopeully Hugo can figure the shooting out otherwise it?s unlikely he makes it in the league.
I was literally quoting you, when you said "Braun is a career 38%+ from 3pt. He's a
good shooter."
Which aligns with what I said "he's not known as a great shooter."
Now you're going from "good" to "elite."
Either way, let's ignore Braun's shooting. If you watch his highlight reel that I shared, he's shown as more of a defender, who runs in transition, and drives to the rim. Very similar to Gonzalez right now, and they were close in size (both 6'6" and Braun was 205lbs in college).
Giddey seems to have much, much better handles than Braun. Just a different kind of player.
