Just like Brad said, looks like Al is moving on from Boston. He has taken out the Celtics in his X bio. All reports have him going to the Warriors. I was hoping he?d retire a Celtic. He truly embodied what being a Celtic is, but leaving the team twice just leaves some bitterness in my mouth. I know he wants a shot at another ring, and that he?d probably stay if JT didn?t get injured, but still. It just doesn?t seem right that he?s not retiring as a Celtic.

As long as it?s GSW and not LAL I?m good with it.

nothing to be bitter about.  why throw away what may be his last season on a team that will struggle to even make the play-in.  if Tatum were healthy or Jrue and Zinger were kept, Al would likely have stayed.

I understand Al?s decision 100%. I?m just bitter with how the circumstances played out. Injuries, the 2nd apron?.it just sucks.

Al could've hung up it after 2022, but he stayed for a few more rides. Lived through the bizarre ending of 2023, celebrated a champion in 2024, and getting a second-round exit in 2025.

I thought if he were to go to a contender, it would be with another team in the East or a top 3 team in the West. The Warriors, albeit old, probably aren't strong contenders.

I wonder, how many players in Celtics history would have turned down that offer from Philly.

Al takes the bag. I'm not hating just pointing out the obvious.

The Warriors expected Al Horford to sign last week, but he never did as he continues to explore other options, per
@MarcJSpears
.

The Bucks, Hawks and Lakers have also expressed interest in signing Horford alongside Golden State.

Well, there is a rumor Tatum and Beal want to play together still. Personally, I don't think either Beal or Lillard have much left but maybe it could be worth rolling the dice on one of them.

No source is cited. Going to assume it's just click-farming until someone actually reports interest.

Lillard, sure, worth a flyer.  Beal I have less than 0 interest in.  Lillard (34 years old) has scored between 24-30 ppg every season for the last 10 seasons.  Not highly efficient but that is something that might improve if he were on BOS.  Beal (32 years old) is much farther into his decline.  Lillard is in his decline also but declining from 25 ppg last season vs. Beal declining from 17 ppg.  Granted, Lillard will be coming off a devastating injury but Beal hasn't looked healthy in about 3 seasons.

Id sign Lillard not Beal.  This needs to be a gap year, so Lillard doesn't affect that while Beal does.

Besides I think Beal will go to Lakers.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Id take either or both if they'd play for veteran minimum.

Quick video (3min) of Durant talking about what Tatum & Lillard have ahead of them in their achilles injury recoveries.

Durant talks about the not playing / resting + continuing to rehab even after you return and that he is still doing some of it today years later + it made it more difficult for him to take long jump-shots because he didn't have the power in his legs anymore. He had to swap those shots out for different shots post-injury.

Interesting notes especially the long 3s & step back 3s. Also that he was still doing rehab long after he came back from injury.

Actually, Lillard is/has been highly efficient. His career TS% is 59%, compared with Tatum who sits at 58.3%. His last nine seasons he's had ONE year below 58.6% TS.

The thing people don't understand about Beal vs Lillard is Lillard is a SIGNIFICANTLY better offensive player than Beal. He's coming off a season of 25/7 at a TS of 62% so even if the achilles injury and/or aging knocks him down a peg or two he's still likely to be at least pretty good on return. For a min or Tax-MLE I think he's a no-brainer.
