Have to think Hauser goes next.

I think we are going to see that Hauser has value around the league to. He's a 40% shooting specialist with size on a contract that is significant less than the MLE. It's a better contract than other players like Duncan Robinson, Isaiah Joe, and other shooting specialist have.

That?s why I think they keep him. Good player, above average defense and fine rebounder, in a role (sharpshooter) that is a requirement for a team w championship aspirations. And, contrary to some people?s thinking, Scheirman does not replace that.

I have to ask -- why not?

Sam has shown he can get hot and provide a real scoring lift and has shown that if he were in a real offensive system instead of Joe's obsession with just chucking 3's, he can score on the move particularly if he drives a bit if run off the 3 point line.  He's also shown he can be ice cold too and had a lot more of those nights this past season.  He plays with effort on D but is frequently the point of attack for other teams.  his ballhandling (which he does very little of) and passing are mediocre at best.  his rebounding is meh.  He had a number of games where he was pretty invisible on the court - I attribute a good part of that to Joe's garbage offense not making a point of getting the ball to Hauser where he can get a shot off.

Baylor, after that brutal beginning of the season where he couldn't make anything, showed he has the same range as Sam, has much better passing skills, better ballhandling skills and his D can be at least as passable as Sam's.  Need to see more to see if he's a better rebounder.

I think Baylor can provide as much as Hauser if not more.  In a vacuum, I'd like to have both but if we need to move Hauser for financial reasons, I feel pretty confident Baylor can step into that role pretty well.

If were comparing apples to apples Sam is the better shooter.  IMO Baylor showed a more all around game in the last 6 weeks of the season then Sam has in his whole career.  Baylor has extremely good vision.  He has a better handle then Sam.  He crashes the board and is a better rebounder.  I'm not saying he's elite.  He's just better then Sam.  His defense improved but he still needs more development there to stay on the floor.  His outside shot is a downgrade but he is a much better finisher then Sam.  I love Hauser.  The C's have really developed him well but he's a player on a cheap contract that a lot of other similar players are making much more.  He should be very valuable because any team with the MLE can trade for him.

I like Hauser and he seems to have a team friendly contract for what he brings to the table. While Scheierman does seem to have good playmaker ability, his outside shooting form is vomit inducing. So, if the Celtics are going to keep this 3 point shooting barrage, I rather watch Hauser shoot than Scheierman.

The San Antonio Spurs have shown interest in Kristaps Porziņģis, per
@JakeLFischer

?The Spurs, sources say, have held some exploratory talks about trading for the 7-foot-2 center. That would certainly be a fascinating outcome for Porziņģis if he were to land with the on-the-rise Spurs alongside the 7-foot-5 Victor Wembanyama.?

Bobby Marks on Celtics: I am expecting more moves to happen. Your backcourt of Anfernee Simons and Derrick White will probably look different when we get to training camp. Certainly ,we?ll keep an eye on what happens with Kristaps Porzingis. I think the goal is certainly to get under the second apron. (?) We?ll keep an eye on Sam Hauser. We?ll certainly keep an eye on maybe Derrick White. I think you have to come with the monster trade package. This basically the bridge year that Boston was going to do? This certainly is the bridge year. Right now you?re probably best positioned to, and I don?t want to say a fire sale, but you?re basically going to probably be positioning yourself for potentially probably a lottery pick here, as far as where this roster is going and you wait till Jayson Tatum gets back and you figure out what you?re going to do with your roster.

Total speculation by Marks.

I don't like the idea of any teardown that involves us 1) losing Derrick White; and 2) totally dismantles our team to the point of us ending up in the lottery.

Who do we want from San Antonio? So many teams are rumored to be interested in KP (Pelicans, Lakers to name a few of those rumors) and it feels like Brad is gonna come up with another masterclass, that is if he doesn?t decide to unload KP.

I'd take Vassel and the 14th

But man they would have no bigs or big wings

First...The Celtics are still a top 6 team in the east. There is no lottery next season for them. They would have late lottery pick at best.

Second you can't have a torn down team for when JT returns. That would take years to rebuild.

I am keeping JT, JB, PP, White and Simons. That is my core going forward.

Baylor, this year's picks are the start of the bench combined with what you get back from deals.

I could be wrong, but I don't think we'd get that much for Zinger.

Barnes + Branham + 14 may make more sense. We'd save 5m more and then could divert Barnes or both to another team using our 1st and/or 2nd round pick. We'd be 15m under the 2nd apron then.

These accounts are shaky so take with a grain of salt obviously.

screw the Lakers.  Don't see anyone on the Warriors or Pels that would be desirable for the C's.    Spurs have some interesting youth and a couple of firsts this year that look good.  won't be getting the #2 but #14 , Vassel and another piece might be worth it.  I'm not as high on Vassel as others so him and #14 would not be enough.
