He is.

I worry about Jrue.  That shoulder issue has been with him since last year.  I wonder if he's looking at surgery in the off-season.

This is cool to see. Lots of Celtics fans were also at the arena it seemed

My hope is that, once Porzingis' contract runs out, he's willing to stay here on a cheaper, reasonable deal. He's already made a ton in his career and he definitely seems to love Boston and the fans, and there isn't as much pressure being the 3rd or 4th option.

That's pretty good company.

Is it leading in each of those categories individually, or leading when all three stats are combined (i.e., points + rebounds + assists)?  I assume it's the former.

Rajon Rondo on Sam Cassell. Really hope we don?t lose him.

Rajon Rondo: At times, Doc? there?s no secret?Doc p---ed me off. I was frustrated with him a lot. And Sam was that guy who bridged the gap, along with T [Tyronn Lue] years later. Those were the guys that really helped. They helped the relationship, helped me understand, Okay, this is what Doc is thinking, and then they would go tell him, This is how Rondo is thinking. It helped a lot. And like I said, Sam was vital and pivotal during those years I was able to play with him. You know, he?s a two-time champ? maybe three. I think he won one before in Houston. But having a guy like that in the locker room, and then being able to go to the coaching staff and translate what?s best for the team and for us as individuals? that?s huge.  via YouTube

Each individual category. Tremendous accomplishment by Tatum and company to be in.

Great picture whoever made it.

Saw this on Celtics Reddit. Nice article on PP?s work ethic. It?s a bit long but surely worth the read.

The Athletic is handing out grades as of the All-Star break.  They seem to be a mix of the season results to date, along with how teams have set themselves up going forward:

Quote
Boston Celtics: B-

Have the Celtics lived up to last season's dominance? Not quite. It took them a month and a half to rediscover how to play together once Kristaps Porziņģis returned from injury. Still, entering Wednesday night, they were the only team in the top five in both offense and defense. The Celtics? biggest problem might be that the league around them has improved. They didn't have a challenger like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Cleveland Cavaliers last season. Jay King

Teams ahead of us or tied:

Oklahoma City Thunder - A+
Cleveland Cavaliers - A
Memphis Grizzlies - A
Denver Nuggets - A-
LA Lakers - A-
Detroit Pistons - B+
Golden State Warriors - B+
Utah Jazz - B+
Charlotte Hornets - B
Indiana Pacers - B
New York Knicks - B
Portland Trailblazers - B
Atlanta Hawks - B-
Brooklyn Nets - B-
Houston Rockets - B-
LA Clippers - B-
San Antonio Spurs - B-

Worst of the worst:

Milwaukee Bucks - C-
Sacramento Kinds - C-
Washington Wizards - C-
New Orleans Pelicans - D
Philadelphia 76ers - D
Chicago Bulls - D
Dallas Mavericks - F
Phoenix Suns - F

Colin Cowherd named the Celtics as his frontrunner / team to beat this season in a recent video.

I wonder if they decided to factor in defense more this time, and Jaylen did a good job neutralizing Doncic and others. He was also more consistent, only one bad game where everyone was also terrible (Game 4). Tatum in theory probably should have won it, because he also had a massive closeout game. But I wonder if he was penalized for not doing as much Games 1 and 2 particularly on the scoring side. I believe he only scored 7 points more than Jaylen by the end of the series. He was awesome Games 3 and 5 though.
