Brown told Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, that he plans to get the hip checked out by doctors and have some medical scans done. He tweaked his hip during the third quarter of Friday?s game.

I got an MRI in training camp and it?s been back and forth since then,? Brown said. ?[Friday] I think I extended it a little more, and it?s already been giving me some trouble. I?m going to have to get another MRI and go from there.

Hope it won't require a season-ending surgery, but yeah, hip injuries not good

Hopefully he?s back in time for the Warriors game. We need to bury Steve Kerr and his team.

We got guys who can short term fill those minutes. Pritchard and Jrue have increased their production and Walsh can absorb some minutes and contribute positively.

I?ve got faith in the close knit team that we will function well without Brown. I?m not sure adding a volume scorer w suspect defense would help us more than just giving the guys that are as good if not better and familiar with the system more opportunity.

Not that I would be against the added insurance of Walker but we are fine without him.

Walsh, Scheierman, Davison, and Springer went 3-13 yesterday. I?m not sure if any of them belong on an NBA roster.

Quick question. So at this upcoming trade deadline, are we expected to not add anyone due to all the luxury tax implications? Like not even any buyout guy?

Maybe they dangle Springer in a trade but could they pull off a trade where they get a cheaper player in return or not?

Every roster has prospects. The Celtics organization has been very good at developing prospects in the last 4 or 5yrs. Should the Celtics have bailed early on Pritchard, Hauser and Quetta for nominally better players with worse fit?

Scheierman is a rookie, he needs to adjust his play and body to the NBA game. Giving up on him after a month seems silly.
Davison isn?t even on the regular roster but I'd be surprised if he didn?t get playing time on team like the Wizards.
Walsh is playing pretty well. He?s a 20yr old in his 2nd year getting minutes on the reigning champs. Hardly cannon fodder.
Springer has some real defensive chops but can?t find an offensive role. He?s really your only case of a prospect that is worth cutting bait.

It?s really only Walsh that Walker would be battling for minutes with. And whether he won that battle, it?s the top reserves and other starters that can replace Browns production. Regardless, I?d rather see the Celtics trust in there good development and let Walsh get better and become a longer term cost controlled player.

Walsh is an NBA player, with potential to get better.  He's not a good, or even average, NBA player.  But, as an end of roster player, he's fine.

I guess this is going to be the season of complaining about how we didn't sign Lonnie Walker, every time a guard misses a game.  I admit, I thought that Walker would be signed and have a role but I don't think his impact was going to be much in any case.  Something comparable to Mykhailiuk at best.

And because all the other NBA teams also did not offer him a job, I have to think that maybe there are bigger holes in his game than I realize.  I have not seen him play all that much and it is hard to judge defense for example, based on preseason garbage time, which is pretty much all I got to see of him.

Walsh has been fine, he is playing and contributing.  Plus his ceiling is much higher than Walker's.  Walsh could be the next Sam Hauser, Walker is what, the next Svi Mykhailiuk?  A journeyman fringe NBA player?  Svi at least has a job in the NBA.  At least one team felt he was worth signing.  That is more than Lonnie Walker can say.

Springer is on his rookie contract and may not get another one at this rate.  But he is young too (only 22).  He may not be a better player than Walker right now (not sure) but he is a better prospect than Walker.  It is kind of moot to argue Springer vs. Walker anyway, they are both fringe NBA players.  Springer is a high level NBA defender, but can't shoot; Walker can shoot some (career 35% from 3) but not much else apparently.

Walker has a cheap NBA buyout of $450,000, so if we want him back, we can still sign him.

It is possible we will not.  It mostly depends how we have been playing, of course, and if there are injuries.  My expectation is we won?t make a trade except maybe to dump Springer and save money if he continues to be a garbage-time only player, and sign one or two guys to fill out the roster after the All-Star break (depending if Springer is still on the team).  If we make no trades, I think the only thing we do is sign either Davison or Peterson in early April, as we have done the past couple of years to go into the postseason with 15.
