Springer is very bouncy and he might be the best athlete on the Celtics. Has a 41.5” vertical.

Tillman moves better than I thought. He’s pretty quick for someone that’s nearly 250lbs.

Is Tillman our Rob Williams replacement? Obviously not the athlete, but functionally the same.

Springer's game seems more like TIMELORD than Tillman's.

Really looking forward to seeing the new guys soon. So glad that we kept PP, Sam, and Oshae.

On defense I do see the similarity, but Springer is a guard. Tillman and TL play essentially the same position.

So what happens to the GWill TPE now? Can we still use it in the offseason?

Until June 30th.  I’m pretty certain we used some of it for Springer, so there’s about $4 million left.

Any financial implications of our roster changes?

This might have bearing on any decisions to add a buyout guy.

Not really.  I think we added a little over $100k to our payroll with our trades.  We’re a second apron team, as we were before.  I think adding a player will be about finding someone who can fit into the roster, and will likely not be a major name since “fitting in” probably means “not playing” unless there’s an injury in the next week (let’s hope not).  My guess is we use it to take on a G league guy, be that Queta or someone else, who’s interested us.

Three point shooting

Tatum = 36.2% on 8.4 3PTA
Jaylen = 34.4% on 5.6 3PTA
Porzingis = 35.8% on 5.1 3PTA

D White = 39.8% on 6.7 3PTA
Hauser = 40.9% on 5.5 3PTA
Jrue = 42.8% on 4.7 3PTA
Pritchard = 37.1% on 4.5 3PTA
Horford = 40.7% on 4.1 3PTA

Our three stars are the lowest percentage three point shooters in the rotation. They are also some of our highest volume shooters.

C's might legit be able to wrap up the 1 seed by late March at this rate. They are still 6 up on Cleveland and 7.5 of Milwaukee.

Honestly, they could play .500 basketball to finish out the season and there’s a good chance they’d be the 1 seed.  They’re 6 up on the Cavs and have already clinched the tiebreaker.

4 up for HCA in the Finals.

I think the Cs wrapping up the 1 seed super early would be a bad thing. One of the things this team has demonstrated multiple times in recent years is that if they get far ahead, they let their foot off the gas. If these guys clinched really early, they'd become super relaxed and sloppy, then they'd have to "flip the switch" when game 1 of the playoffs rolls around, but by then they'd be rusty and out of rhythm and it would take several games for them to get back in a groove.

Just to be clear, you’d like them to lose a bunch of games in the next few weeks to make the end of the season close?  Because their lead is substantial right now.

This is borrowing trouble imo.

Let's blow the doors off the rest of the NBA if we can.  Better chance to grab some extra rest for our old or injury-prone guys so they're ready for the games that count.  Poor health is a more likely killer than rust.

And I really don't think this team is as weak-willed as some fans claim.  Yes, we give up leads or have letdowns here and there.  So does literally everybody else.  Largely I think that's a symptom of modern NBA basketball, where big leads vanish in five possessions and any random schmuck with an official jersey is a threat to go for 20 if they get hot from outside.

I’d like to see us go for 65, which only 21 teams have been able to hit in NBA history. We’re currently on pace to win 63/64 games, and we’ve had our fair share of minor injuries and absences, while also building in some games of rest for our main guys. I think it’s clearly doable with the easier schedule the rest of the way and would still leave leeway to rest guys appropriately, barring any major injuries, of course.
