We could have games this year where 3 players have 30 plus points in a game. It is wild to think about it.

Porzingis very well might end up being our 2nd best player

He already is

JB will have his big games for sure. I’m just happy we have a legit Big 3.

Don't forget Holiday. Averaged 19ppg last year.

He’s not going to average thst this year and he won’t need to…I feel like their personal production will all drop, and that’s ok because it’s the sum total of their production that ultimately matters

Rebounding remains my concern.  We allowed 17 offensive rebounds.

When the Celtics fouled the Knicks for a potential 3 pt play to go up 6 or 7 with 4 minutes left I thought that was game. Celtics rallied hard and fought for that win.

I am so excited for this season. Can't wait to Play Miami on Friday.

Go Celtics!

Takeaways from tonight:

1) This team will be impossible to defend once fully gelled and accustomed to playing with each other. That first five of Jrue, White, JB, JT, and KP is unstoppable given their shooting and spacing.

2) Similarly, defensively we also have the potential to be elite. KP is a gamechanger down low, particularly when playing a team with a non-shooting five.

3) However, it's going to take some time. We're basically a brand new team, and they clearly had some struggles adjusting to the new teammates out there. Expect some rough stretches the first quarter of the season until we iron out the kinks. Defensively, too, they'll have to get used to the rotations.

4) The bench is tenuous. If PP and Hauser aren't hitting their shots, that's a big problem and makes the bench even weaker. And don't get me started on Kornet, but he's just not a NBA-level big, especially for a role this size on a title contender. I think we'll start seeing more Stevens and Brissett moving forward, as the two big Kornet lineups looked so awkward out there.

5) Lastly, I think at least one or two of the stars are going to see some fairly substantial sacrifice in their numbers. I think we'll see Jrue's scoring drop quite a bit, but I think we'll also see JB's scoring drop. Given their advantages at their respective positions and how well they can play off each other and the rest of the team, they're going to get theirs and be the primary cogs in the offense.

I know this team is top heavy and that’s the strength but one injury for a stretch of time will be bad. This bench is razor thin. They are going to need better play out of PP and Hauser.

While I agree, I do think the Knicks are a unique problem on that front.  They have good rebounders all over their roster.  Most nights won't be this bad.

Too many TOs...13.  Tatum with 4 and Horford with 3.

I’m excited that Luke managed to pull down 1 rebound during his 8 minutes. That’s 1 more than he usually does

I noticed that Queta was in the bench. If Luke doesn’t shape up Neemias may very well overtake him in the pecking order.

Queta might have helped us a lot more with the rebounding. I suppose he’s not familiar with the coverages and rotations yet and it was too much of a risk to plug him in there

Will take the victory but have some concerns. Hoping coaching staff can figure out rotations that adds to the chemistry. Tonight, many of the combinations looked questionable. Work in progress....Go C's
