Giannis really showed the nice guy act is just that, an act.

Can't stand him

I would expect that someone with a username like yours would be able to relate to Giannis.

The joke’s on you for thinking that someone with a username like his regularly relates to other people.   ;)

It is worth keeping in mind that most fandoms have no idea what the people they're fans of are actually like, though.

Giannis really is coming across as a baby these days. Remember after the Heat series last year how he kept going on about how the season wasn't a failure and acted butthurt when reporters/fans were indicating it was. Now you have videos of him running into the locker room like a toddler for a freakin' basketball. I mean we can call it hilarious/petty but on the other hand he looks extremely soft, and then the whole "hold me back" instances with him and his brother last night vs. Indiana

I would love to see a Bucks-Pacers playoff series.

He literally said "it didn't feel like the game ball"  ::) ::) ::)

Yeah I'm sure he'd know because he kept holding it for all 32 free throw attempts of his

I think they do make more than one ball but I have no clue how many they actually use.

If you haven’t seen the Barry Sanders doc on Prime, it’s very much worth a watch and maybe should be mandatory viewing for HS, college, and pro athletes.  At least just to provide them with a different perspective - different approach to fame and adulation.  Sanders was the antithesis of the me-first athlete seeking center stage and working for records or awards.  He’s unique, no doubt, and likely not many who would/could handle things the way he did - but I think great to get into athlete’s heads that you don’t have to be all about your athletic achievements. Barry undoubtedly would not have cared less about a game ball.

The Brooklyn Nets reportedly could be potential threats to land Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell via trade if the Cavs consider moving him.

According to Action Network’s Matt Moore, the Nets and New York Knicks could be options for Mitchell, who is under contract with the Cavs through the 2024-25 season. Mitchell has a player option on his deal for the 2025-26 campaign.

Quote
“Everyone expects, and has expected, Donovan Mitchell to leave the Cavs in free agency,” Moore wrote. “There’s conflicting belief about whether or not Mitchell has informed the Cavs of anything regarding his future. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst has reported for months going on years that Mitchell will not re-sign with Cleveland. One name I heard from multiple sources to look out for if the Knicks can’t get a deal done for Mitchell is the always-star-shopping Brooklyn Nets, who have a plethora of assets to get such a deal done.”

Ouch. That was quick.

His numbers aren't that bad. 14.5ppg and 8.6rpg in 31mpg. Shooting 48% from the field and 38% from three. He has a negative assist to turnover ratio at 0.9apg to 1.4tov per game. 1bpg and 0.6spg.

His overall TS% is right around slightly below league average at 57.2% due to his low number of FTs. His offensive BPM is -0.8 probably picking up those bad passing numbers combined with middling TS%. His defensive BPM is lousy at -1.8. An overall BPM of -2.6 which is very poor for a highly paid starter. That is end of bench guys who play 15mpg and aren't very good.

Chet Holmgren reminds me of Marcus Camby with his length and leaping ability on defense & attacking the offensive glass.

De'Aaron Fox was outstanding in leading the Kings tonight. OKC's big guards / wings were beating him up every chance they could get. Especially Lu Dort. Also Giddey. Fox just kept attacking and carved them up like a Christmas turkey. They could not keep him out of the paint.

Really angry game from Fox. He wasn't happy with what they were doing and wasn't happy with the refs for not controlling it. Fox finished with 41pts and 7ast.

SGA was brilliant in his own right. 43pts and 9ast for him. Fun game.

Did giddeys underage girl stuff just get swept under the rug? NBA released a statement they were investigating and it just kind of disappeared. Meanwhile wander Franco will never play baseball again. Would at least like to know what happened with the official investigation

Bucks-Pacers rivalry renewed. Divisional games always heated.

Adam Silver mentioned that due to the police criminal investigation, the NBA is taking a back seat until that is concluded.

Quote
On Friday, Silver explained that the league is following normal protocols in allowing Giddey to play while dual investigations are ongoing. He told ESPN's Malika Andrews that the NBA was notified by the Newport Beach Police Department of their independent investigation.

“I’m not going to say never ever, but I think this is the path we’ve consistently followed in the past," Silver said. “In this case, so we have an allegation and then you have a police investigation and then a parallel league investigation. I also add that, where there is a criminal investigation, we take a back seat… that impacts how the players and players association can work with us because of course the player needs to protect his rights."

If I had to guess at the difference between why Wander Franco was placed on administrative leave and Josh Giddey wasn't, without knowing the details of what each league's and player association's policies are, I think it's because with Wander Franco there were actual complaints made by two of the girls who had relationships with Franco, with one of them actually going to the police to make a complaint. In Giddey's case there was a social media allegation from an anonymous person, and (so far) the girl in question has refused to make a statement to police, so they have no complainant, and officially no case. The Newport police are investigating to see if there is something there, but without an actual complaint I'm not sure how strong any case would be.
