I always look at that #55 for Dallas and wonder "who the heck is that?"

Every single game. Without fail. Such a strange number for a SF and such a forgettable player. Derrick Jones Jr.

Can someone explain to me why teams like Derrick Jones Jr. so much? Feel like everywhere he goes he either starts or plays big minutes. As far as I can tell he really doesn’t do anything particularly well aside from Jump really high.

Not sure why other teams started him.

Dallas started him because he was the only wing player they had with quick feet. Their other forwards were all slow (like Kleber) and next to Luka they killed the Mavs team D. So Derrick Jones Jr had value as a mobile team defender.

I think he had something similar in Chicago where they had major problems at forward and he just filled vaccuum for them.

But yeah, he is mostly just an athlete. Shooting the 3 a bit this year. I thought he was 3rd string caliber talent his first few years in the league who only got hype because of his highlight dunks. But that improvement in the three ball, 3 3PTAs per game on 34%, makes him a legit bench player. Not starting caliber. Average bench dude.

The Clippers when healthy could easily be a threat to beat Denver and make the Finals.

Problem is they are just never healthy though and something always comes up. Plus PG13 and Harden aren't really consistent playoff performers.

Is that Richard Jefferson as commentator?

Not liking this crew.

Exum moves so differently than he did when he was younger. That freaky athleticism is long gone. Just a robotic 6-6 with average athleticism now.

Yeah. I actually like the crew, don't mind it. It's fine as like the 3rd or 4th crew.

Personally I thought the crew in yesterday's Cavs-Magic game were atrocious. Funny enough they had technical difficulties early on so the first few mins had no commentary, just the game noise + crowd noise, and it was an improvement from everything else ESPN has to offer (even Breen/Burke/Reddick)

Clips are abusing Kyrie on defense and also, their frontcourt is hounding Dallas. Probably doesn't help though that Gafford got in foul trouble early

Dull game so far. Dallas a no-show.

Gafford is so much smaller than Zubac or Plumlee.

Gafford is a bench big really. Not a starter. Too small and vulnerable as an interior presence on defense & rebounding. Not skilled enough on offense to make up for it.

Lively is their future starting center.

Clippers letting Dallas hang around here.

It was 40-22. Now it is 44-28.

Clippers have a chance here to put Dallas away while they are struggling. They are not doing it.

Nice to hear the commentators call out Harden's cheating.

Back up 21.

Mavs are playing really bad, which is strange to see since they've been so good for a few months now. Maybe rust/jitters?

Luka forcing some of these drive and kicks instead of shooting. He needs to take those. That was an ugly forced PJ Washington floater because Luka didn't take an easier runner.

Hate how flopping and acting is legitimately an important part of the modern NBA skillset.  If you don't sell marginal contact for calls, it's actually a weakness in your game.
