Doc Rivers admits he was a bit confused when Milwaukee called him.

“I told [Bucks ownership] ‘I don’t understand why you’re doing this.’”

I’m looking forward to how this plays out. Who’s gonna leave first, Giannis or Doc?

Oh, Doc.  And it'll cost MIL a pretty penny.

It's last resort for MIL to let the face of their franchise go. Especially being in that market.

Doc or Giannis is a no brainer.

Giannis can ask to be traded though? I think the Lillard acquisition was a band aid solution to appease him. If they tank in the playoffs I could see him demand a trade out of Milwaukee. He seems to be frustrated with the club, even saying that having 4 coaches in 6 months is draining him.

It’s a win win for Doc , he’s been fired so many times now ,  LOL …haaaaa…he don’t care one bit what folks think  ,  it’s all old hat …..just another way to rake in the millions with out accomplishing chit .

Doc is a better crook ( snake oil salesman ) than coach  :)

But dumb GM s line on up, keep “ hoping “ he can deliver a miracle….. ;D

Doc never should have taken the job if he truly believed that.  which is why I don't believe that for a second.

Milwaukee are too old, too slow and too lacking in depth.

It doesn't matter who their coach is. They do not have enough talent to challenge for a title.

I agree. He’s trying to save face, but comes across as a phony.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Thinking about how to make the all star game better, what if they made all shots worth 2. No 3 point shot in the game.  Or maybe you just have a small circle on each side worth 3, but that is it.  Might stop some of the ridiculous shots a d would make those little circles more entertaining and easier to defend.

“I’ve seen the trend now. I’ve seen the trend for years. The trend is always making excuses,” Redick said Tuesday on “First Take.” “We get it, Doc. Taking over a team in the middle of the season is hard. It’s hard, we get it. Just like getting traded in the middle of the season is hard for players. We get it. But it’s always an excuse. It’s always throwing your team under the bus. They lose to Memphis, it’s his players’ fault. Memphis was playing G League guys and two-way guys. You look at his quotes over the weekend, now he wants to take credit for James Harden traded to the Clippers working out. He wants credit for that. There’s never accountability with that guy. There’s never accountability.”

Austin Rivers responds…

Lots of Doc’s former players are chiming in now.  This is a mess.

Maybe for Doc and the Bucks it is.  I’m going to enjoy the Celtics being able to focus on themselves.

I've met Doc, nice guy but terrible coach IMO....Danny Ainge rescued him from the coaching garbage pile and handed him a Great team in Boston-He only managed to win one title-and even in 2008, he almost lost it because he changed his rotation when the playoffs started.

Doc has been lucky to make the money he has and I would say he owes half of it to Danny Ainge.

I mean maybe after they said "but we will pay you $40million guaranteed" and he said sign me up!

Kind of funny to hear all this from Doc after just 10 games.....and they play the timberwolves on Friday night. could be another loss

their schedule is pretty brutal coming up. alot of playoff teams.

I have no real desire to defend Doc Rivers, so I won't, but I do think it's important to keep in mind that the inability of Milwaukee's front office & ownership to properly assess, hire, and retain a functional coaching staff is not a problem created by Doc Rivers.

the funny thing is that Giannis said its "exhausting" going through so many coaches. When I guarantee it was him who pushed for Bud to be gone, then pushed for Griffin over nurse, and then probably pushed for Griffin to be fired. I doubt the bucks front office does any of these moves without his blessing.

that first game after griffin was fired they were dancing before the game like they just god rid of Hitler as a coach.
