So I noticed we play the Sixers again this Friday

Lol why are both teams playing each other like 3 times within a month span?? And this early in the season

Yeah.  This has been a weird one.  Two prior games, both in Philly around a week of each other.  I wonder if the in season tournament has caused some of these scheduling quirks.  I haven't paid close attention to other teams to know if anything like this happened to them.

LAL seem all over the place this season. Down 20pts to the 76ers Q3 right now. Too inconsistent. Never know what team will show up. A quality team with decent depth. Or a team that gets blown out.

Something is genuinely off with that team. They are not fitting together like they did late last season.

They have a Davis problem.  He just isn't as consistent as he should be.  When he brings his A game, they are very hard to beat, he just hasn't brought the A game all that much.  I do really think if the Lakers and Celtics both flame out this year, that a Brown for Davis swap makes a lot of sense for both teams.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

And we get the last Philly game in February. Interesting.

Deni Avdija is quietly putting up some good shooting numbers to open the season. 51% FG% 40% 3PT%. I doubt it holds up but something to keep an eye on moving forward. That would be a career changer for him.

Anthony Davis has no real desire to win. He showed up last season just enough to get his huge contract extension this past summer. Now he mentally checked out again, which is is usual mode.

Lebron is also too old to lead a contending team and is a liability on defense. He is just putting up empty stats to pad his career resume. The Lakers were never going to be contenders. The moves they made last year at the trade deadline and this past summer addressed nothing. They were just overhyped by the LA media as usual, but it didn't fix any of their roster issues

Yes they still don’t have enough shooting. They paid for 2 months of performance from vincent and ignored who he was the rest of the year. Reaves is not a third star. Also ham is not a very good coach. Similar to our friend Joe

I still wouldn't count them out against most teams in the playoffs if Lebron and Davis are healthy.  Lebron still has an amazing on/off differential and come playoff time when he ups his minutes up to much closer to 40, they can stick around, and even at 39 I wouldn't bet against James in a close playof game (Denver is the only western team right now that is clearly better than they are when healthy).  Clay is right though, they need more 3 point shooting. When Lebron is your 3rd best shooter (and by a decent margin), you need more shooting (D-Lo and Rui are fine, they need a couple of more - even just specialists like Korver was for the Cavs would be very helpful to their bench).

Embarrassing loss for the Clippers at home, with no Jokic, and having a big lead going into the fourth.

how can anyone enjoy watching embiid on offense? dude shoots like sub 40% but then has 20 FT's a game to pad his stats. never seen someone get such a whistle just barreling into people.

also kind of explains why the sixers are bounced every year in the playoffs. the refs swallow their whistle and Embiid is pretty limited when the refs aren't giving him 20 FT's a game.

Murray and Gordon also didn't play for the Nuggets.  DeAndre Jordan's line filling in for Jokic was: 21pts, 13reb, 5ast, 1blk and 2stl.

Anything to get rid of the Reggie Jefferson - JJ Redick pairing works for me.  Those two clearly hate each other and make the games unwatchable.
