In August I said 49ers first, everyone 2nd..also said KC would lose to Buffalo & Baltimore 🤪🤪..with all that being said, here’s my prediction:

49ers 24- Chiefs 21

Players didn’t like him.  Led the league in dropbacks with a rookie QB and an offense built for the run.  Wouldn’t change his game plan to elevate the talent that he has.  Less yards per play than Scott Turners offense the year before who got ran out of town mid season.

Admittedly EB wasn’t dealt a great hand in DC but he did nothing to maximize the talent that he did have here.  It’ll be interesting to see where he lands, does he run back to KC?  He might be able to land an OC job somewhere else but no one wanted him last offseason

I don't like either team, but won't bet against Mahomes.  Go with the better QB, usually works out that way.

Game day. Kadarius Toney not expected to play today despite a healthy scratch. Controversial things going on with him.

Niners should be doubling up on Kelce. Mahomes will prob go to MVS more. Think it'll be an under Superbowl game.

Still sticking to the 49ers today.

Sticking with my gut. SF wins and also the under.

I think SF won’t make the same mistake that Baltimore made & will run, run, run.  Ball control offense and keep the ball out of Mahomes’ hands & the KC offense off the field. SF D will do a good job on containment and pressure.  Fred Warner steps up.  Will be just enough to force KC to settle for FGs instead of TDs. Purdy will minimize his mistakes and even do some damage with his legs.
 
Think SF covers the spread and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win by more than a TD.

(Of course, I also wouldn’t be surprised to totally flub this either)

Great stop by the Niners there after the turnover.

They need to stick with the run even after that fumble. KC's run defense is poor, and SF was gashing them. They can control the pace of the game with the run and occasional play action shots.

Niners fumbled in the opening possession. KC eventually punted back.
