The constant BB speculation is getting a little much (talk shows, etc). I’m ok either way. If he’s here I’ll be hoping he can turn it around. I’m eternally grateful for Brady, Bill, and Bob for the best sports run ever.  As long as they’re still with the Pats I’ll be cheering them on.  But if he’s gone, he’s gone.  Next guy/gal up.

I think 99% chance he’s gone.

You know how Boston talk radio and sports TV is, Felger, Mazz, Curran, Bedard, Callahan, they're all in a lather about this because there's nothing else to talk about. They all have him gone, it will be funny (well for 30 seconds anyway) if Kraft announces that he is in fact staying.

I just want the team to take positive steps forward. Belichick can do whatever he wants, I just think it would be in his best interest to go to a team that has a realistic chance of winning 9-12 games a year.

Even if the Pats nail the top of the draft and get a #1 receiver in FA, we are still a work in progress. Our defense is awesome, but our offense needs almost everything.

I also worry what would happen to our young QB development if Bill stayed.

I unfortunately have an eerie feeling the Pats are gonna pull off a win tomorrow.

Chiefs are a mess. Pats defense has been great, and I expect Mahomes and/or his receivers to make a dumb turnover which the Pats capitalize on, and it's a close, somewhat low-scoring game. That would benefit NE more than KC. Plus Belichick will actually double Kelce which other teams stupidly don't do usually

Or Mahomes can become Mahomes and the Chiefs treat it like a "get right game". For the tank, that would be beneficial.

Zappe would have to continue to prove he’s not the guy who was cut earlier in the season. He played well enough v. Pittsburgh - who was blown out by Indy yesterday. I’m not convinced Zappe is ultimately better than Mac -  he’s better than what Mac disintegrated to this year, but if Bailey is pressured the way Mac was, not sure he’ll respond much better.

In addition to QB, receivers and other things, this team also needs a kicker. Ryland BLOWS. Great pick Belichick…..

Not sure which is worse - JuJu over Jakobi or Ryland over Folk.

Tie game. Zappe throws it 4th and 1 and converts for the TD.

Pats actually look like the better team so far. KC not scary and Pats feeling confident.
Draft pick drifting away?

Chiefs go back ahead.

But yeah, this Chiefs team looks far less threatening than year's past. The fact that it's 14-10 at halftime against this horrible Pats team and a backup QB sums it up.

Anyways, hope the Chiefs go up 2-scores and hold on from there. Need that Top-2 pick  :)

It’s not pleasant rooting against the Patriots. I know some would never do it and this is making them crazy. I just believe the best interest of the team - if they’re going to be a high pick anyway - is to get to two in a year with 2, maybe 3, very good QB prospects.

For all the arguments about Mac and Zappe (and they both very well could just suck), I've noticed the playcalling is just way different for each guy. Whenever Zappe is in there, it's a ton of screens, checkdowns, occasional slants. But he almost never attempts a deep ball. Whereas Mac does and they typically get intercepted.

So while it "looks" better for Zappe and he might not have many turnovers to his name, it's because the playcalling is extremely simple and not as risky as when Mac's in there.

It was the same last year too btw. Play action, screens. But when Mac was there it was a lot of deep shots and "50/50 balls" to our bum receivers which predictably didn't end well.

I just think if Zappe had to deal with the same sort of pressure and was told to throw it downfield more, he'd have a lot more pedestrian, if not horrible stat lines too with turnovers.
