I just checked the score of the Pats game. I thought the Pats would have scored 21 by now, with the great Zappe throwing for at least 150 yards after the first quarter. It must be the rain.

Haha. The legendary Western Kentucky Hilltopper must be having an off day.

Anyone else notice that this dinged up Patriots defense is getting better? I think BB still has it on that side of the field.

How is the Chargers offense so terrible? They have top 10ish players at QB, RB, and receiver

Idk how that moronic head coach survived especially after blowing that 27-0 playoff game last year.

If Belichick actually went there, I think he could tighten that ship up and improve the defense too. They already have the QB and pieces on offense so he wouldn't have to worry much about that
Yeah I agree. The Chargers seem like the obvious choice for Belichick

There are some ongoing arguments where you have to be saying to yourself - am I really still arguing about this?  Can’t you suffice it to say that the cumulative effect of all of the above from the 3-pass game to the rotating coordinators to the speculated poor relationship with BB, to the porous offensive lines and weak receiving corps, etc have led to a pretty shattered confidence and the need for Mac to rebuild his career elsewhere?   You can’t know for sure what impact every detail has had on Mac’s brain - but the bottom line is what it is and I don’t see anyone at this point disagreeing with that.

I agree totally with this bottom line that Mac has lost all confidence or mojo or whatever and is currently not mentally positioned to be an NFL QB.  There are lots of factors that have led to this but I put it mostly on Mac.  Saban even said recently that he had issues or questions about Mac's mental make up or mental toughness back at Alabama.  It was not always the case; there have been periods in his NFL career where he as looked good, but that is not the case right now.  His mind is not even close to where it needs to be to be an NFL QB.

I think Zappe's mindset or whatever is much better but unfortunately, I don't believe he has the overall talent to be an NFL starting QB.  We'll see over the next few games I guess.   I see no reason to play Mac any more this season.  I don't think it is going to fix him, if he can even be fixed, and at this point, I hate to say it, but who wants to win any games anyway?  Let's role out Zappe and Cunningham and see if by some miracle, one of them plays like an actual NFL QB, something to build on for next season.

Mac meanwhile should consult a sports psychologist in the off season (I say that with all seriousness), try to get his head back in the right place, and pick things up next season.  I doubt very much that this is the end of his NFL run.  There is still NFL talent there, we have all seen it along the way.  He will get more opportunity, in NE or elsewhere.

Still, I blame Belichick for bringing in Matt Patricia and Joe Judge and did not beef up the OLine that further led to Mac's deterioration.

Then again, Mac lacks the mental mindset. Both coach and QB to blame.

if there is blame to BB for Mac, there has to be credit to BB for Tom.

He won the lottery with Tom, that’s for sure.

What really sums it up is, despite not taking any accountability after his bad drop against the Raiders earlier this season + being terrible anyways, Belichick rewarded this fraudulent bum Devante Parker with a 3 year extension. Maddening.

I'm not even gonna watch the 2nd half of this game. Defense deserves better, but the offense and coaches have all given up anyways. And this product has been BORING for two years now, and it's become pathetic. Gillette was only about 60% filled to begin with today, looks like after halftime it'll drop to below 50% easily. I know the Chiefs/Mahomes come to town later this month, but even that game will probably be only 70% filled with mostly Chiefs fans. Then the final week, maybe as empty as COVID times

It's gonna be home-field advantage for the Chiefs when they visit Foxboro. Kraft ought to be livid for this.

Good thing Belichick has let Zappe throw the ball today. Otherwise, he might have low confidence.  :o

Guess B'oB didn't help this year. But yeah, the offense roster is putrid.

I think it's more that the Chargers offense sucks than the Patriots defense being that good.

54 times this season has a team allowed 10 points or less. Those teams are a combined 51-3.

The Pats are 1-3. Everyone else? 50-0.

Not sure there’s much he could have done when the offensive line is that bad and you have one of the worst WR corps in the league.

Good day to be a Pats fan.  Lose and the Cardinals look like they are going to beat the Steelers.
