The Jazz select Dale Ellis
Strong choice. High level shooter and scorer. Would be interested seeing him in the modern game

I called Vlade Divac a budget Bill Walton yesterday. I was thinking of Dan Majerle over the last few days as a budget John Havlicek.

Majerle showed up in a major way in my rankings system as one of the top SFs in the draft because of his all-round game. A strong defender. All-Defense defender. A good rebounder. A good ball-handler, passer and secondary playmaker. A good scorer. A big time shooter. A slasher. A transition scorer. His all-round game was very impressive.

Not as much creation either in terms of shot-creation or playmaking as Hondo. Not quite as quick laterally on defense. But similar in terms of helping his team in every possible area. In terms of being well-rounded.

Always interesting to hear Paul Westphal (1993 Suns coach) say that Majerle was the player he was most scared to take out of the game. Not Barkley. Not KJ. But Majerle. He did so much for the team. All the little things. The glue on both ends of the floor. The guy who made so much work for them.

Budget Hondo.

Excellent pick.  Good defender, even made All-Defense once.

If I didn't go with DJ in round three, he was gonna be my target for starting PG. Truly the jack-of-all-trades player.

Awesome, love Grandmama. If Cummings had been taken I was thinking LJ for the backup PFs

Basically the perfect substitute for Alex English with his defensive prowess.
