I was all over the place with Dwight Howard. More so than any other player. I started with him as a consensus top pick. Maybe the #1 pick. Then wondering if he was 1st or even 2nd round. Maybe 3rd round. I expected him to go 1st round but ...

In terms of performance and dominance, perhaps the best peak of any player in the draft. Perhaps higher than McGrady. I loved Dwight and how he played in Orlando.

However, I wasn't sure how well he matched up in this league against the other big men that will be in this draft. I got nervous about Dwight after looking at that.

Dwight may not have had the best top end season, was a personality pain in the butt, but he was far and away the most decorated and best player in this.  He was the clear #1 pick in my view.

I had him #3/4 with Penny.

TMac
Hill
Dwight/Penny

I loved Mourning but probably not enough to take him top 5, and I knew he wouldn’t last until 20.

I'll stir up the controversy- the talent is just far too good to let him slide any further.

I'll take the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year and Runner up for MVP

OKC selects Dwight Howard with the 6th overall pick.
RPG will find this unforgivable. He was definitely worth picking here though, great choice.

Sorry for the hold up, lads. Preoccupied by work at the worst time. The pick will be in momentarily.

I am heading out, will pick by 6, didn't move fast enough before I left work to pick, unless they are very quick

Going with plan B, but what a [dang] good plan B this is. One of the most underrated players of the 80s, this player was praised by legends like Bird and MJ for being a tenacious defender. A hard-nosed, no ego, no nonsense player that spent his whole career next to ball-dominant scorers. Two time, back-to-back DPoy winner and multiple time 20 point scorer, the LA Clippers select...

Sidney Moncrief!!!

Ahhhh. Several GMs, myself included, were hoping he would fall a little bit. In terms of being able to fit alongside any, he is right up there.

One of the little paths I had dreamed of was pairing Moncrief with Penny Hardaway as my first two picks. Obviously not happening, but I thought that would have been lots of fun. Good pick.

Man, I was so excited when Howard started to fall. If I had the first pick, he probably would have be it.

Haha, me too! Penny and Moncrief. I had not thought of them together until two days ago and I immediately fell in love with them as a pairing.

I was hoping Moncrief would slip down the 2nd round. I had him pegged as an early 2nd but I was hoping he'd slip to a late 2nd and I could steal him away. He always goes higher in CB Drafts than I expect him to though!

I did not think he'd go mid first round but he is fine value here and it sounds like loads of others wanted him soon after so he wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway.
