So with the Celtics not willing to give up Jaylen for Lillard and the Wolves not willing to give up Towns for Lillard, is there anyone left who might give up a star for Lillard?

I see no-one stepping up and being willing to give up that type of value for a 33yo PG who will be earning $50-60mil a year over the next few years.
Zion?

Maybe. The papers said NOP made an inquiry into Lillard. Very little has come out about it though. Hardly any mention at all about Lillard in their papers. Strange.

G: Lillard, Alvarado
G: McCollum, J Hawkins
F: Ingram, T Murphy III
F: H Jones, L Nance, Dyson Daniels
C: Valanciunas, C Zeller

Not a great bench. I'd kina like to start Trey Murphy and bring McCollum off the bench but where does Jordan Hawkins fit in if you do that.

How scared are you of that starting lineup? Small backcourt. Finesse three. Small PF. Valanciunas as the only interior presence but not that mobile. How much defense do they have? Herb Jones the only high level defender in the starting lineup. Two liabilities. Two middle of the pack defenders.

Offense is very strong. Jonas gives them a skilled five next to Lillard. Good supporting scorers in McCollum and Ingram.

It would be cool to see someone step up and make a strong offer for Lillard.

So far the offers are just variations on what Miami is offering rather something far more than what Miami are offer. A decent player or two, future picks, okay young talent.

It is discusting that Lillard is forcing his way on to Miami while Pat Riley is just sitting back smiling knowing it will happen. Miami with Lillard is going to be a problem. I mean we couldn't beat the 8 seed with home court advantage and Jimmy Butler handled us pretty much by himself and a coach that  is an actual smart coach vs. our cheerleader coach. Disgusting. Brad is finding guys to try out from the street with no actual value. Guess what Wyc? You are the one with no balls.

Jimmy was actually trash against the celtics. it was Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent and Max struss turning into the splash bros that handled us. Caleb Martin outplayed Jaylen brown that series. Then turned into a pumpkin against the Nuggets.

Yes I agree that especially Caleb Marting was a problem but I don't exactly agree about trash. Who got the Conference Finals MVP?

It's like when the Lakers  got Pau Gasol for nothing. Same thing will happen with Miami and Lillard and some Eastern Conference team will help it out by taking on the "soft" Tyler Zero.

I think Portland will wait much like Philly did with Simmons.  Dame will get more valuable at the deadline to a team like the Clippers or Miami if they either have injuries or start slowly.

Jimmy got it but it was a joke. Butler was trash that whole series. Caleb killed us and Bam was a game changer defensively

Daryl Morey is, for the moment, a Philadelphia hero. He’s done the right thing four times now. He waited, then got top dollar for Ben Simmons. He didn’t hire Mike D’Antoni to coach. He didn’t cave to James Harden’s outrageous demands, and he’s waiting to get value for Harden, too. And now, reportedly, he has made low-cost, top-talent guard Tyrese Maxey untouchable.

If true, another blow to Portland's trade options. Maxey is the best young talent being talked about for Lillard albeit at the same position as their best prospect Scoot Henderson.

That quote is from an article by Marcus Hayes of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

https://www.inquirer.com/sixers/sixers-free-agency-james-harden-daryl-morey-20230704.html

Quote
Finally, Morey & Co. reportedly are refusing to trade Maxey, a 22-year-old who was a 43.4% three-point shooter this season. Portland’s Damian Lillard was never coming to Philly, anyway. He’d rather be in Miami with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler and incredible coffee.

Really, what 30-something millionaire superstar wouldn’t?

The writer sounds Boston fans when it comes to attracting star players to play in Philly.

Article is not about Lillard. About Morey and Harden.

Yeah, I'm not sure either team goes for it in honesty. Just like the idea of linking up CJ and Dame again

Brooklyn comes to mind. Hugely risky move with Simmons being the salary to offer, but all those picks would be intriguing. If Simmons somehow fixed his brain it would be an interesting offer.

If Lillard's agent is calling teams to warn against trading for him, as a way to force his way to Miami, can the commissioner step in and fine Lillard and his agent? Better yet, could the commissioner veto a trade of Lillard to Miami because of what is essentially is becoming collusion?

It is clearly collusion or in violation of the CBA. If the commish doesn't step in, it sets a bad precedent for the league.

I agree. I’m not generally pro owner but this is nonsense. You signed the super max Dame can’t force your franchise into a horrible deal after that

Isn’t this the main method Lakers get who ever they want ..players forcing their way to LA and open door with no scruples
