Ditto.  The rebuild started when Smart was drafted 9 years ago this week.  Never missed the playoffs with him.

Gun to my head, Marcus was my favorite player on the team. It's probably the right basketball move, but very much a bummer.

Regardless of what you think of Smart today is a sad day. Thanks for the memories Marcus. Keep them boys in line in Memphis!

The tribute video when he comes back to the Garden will be pretty tough. Probably toughest since IT, if not KG & Pierce.

He was never my favourite, and I often posted trade ideas involving him, but to see it come true is pretty odd. Hasn't quite set in yet, won't for a while I imagine

Yep.  This was a really disappointing last-minute twist.  I know all the negatives, but Smart still was my favorite player on the team.  Fault some of his decision-making, but he was unafraid of a big moment, and it seemed like almost every game he would come up with some crazy -- in a good way -- sequence that got the team an extra possession at a key time.

Smart was here through a lot of ups and a lot of downs.  And he caused plenty of each himself, lol. 

I appreciate all he did for his franchise and I'll root for him wherever his career takes him.  Wish we could have won a ring together.
