So... the trade for is (vaguely) Smart, Gallinari, and Muscala for Porzingis and two first round picks?

Seems to be the deal.  Wizards get Jones, Gallo, and Muscala for Porzingis, which doesn’t make much sense for their rio everything apart and tank strategy.

Can’t believe we get KP for Smart + fillers. I am so excited.

Smart wanted to be the alpha and he just wasn’t. Celtics had to get clarity

My guess is smart and joe had issues

What a gut punch. KP and two 1sts is a haul for Smart and likely Gallo +, but man he was the heart and soul of this team. Won’t be the same.

Yeah, as much as I complained about Smart, I was never on the trade him train...he has intangibles
but maybe his def did fall off a bit last year.

So did brad get the ok from JT/JB on trading smart?  I really wonder

Smart is / was my favourite player on the team but I do think it was time for him to move on. His personality is too dominating in that team. He needs to exit and let the Jays take over as leaders.

We’re sending 35 to Wiz in exchange, so we must have some guys in the mid 20s range we like.

But losing both Gallo and Muscala, do we keep GWill now? Thin upfront.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Porzingis and two firsts (bullish on the GSW 1st being solid) for Smart, Gallo & Muscala is a huge return in my opinion. But wow, what a rollercoaster of a day. I wonder how Brogdon feels?

That's a tough move by Brad. Huge change to the team. Longest-serving Celtic gone.

I've wanted him gone at multiple stages across his career, but it is nonetheless hard to comprehend. He's been here for so long.

I honestly still can't believe that Brad pulled the trigger on trading Smart. Dude has some massive balls of steel.

I think you’re over reading it.  The Celtics wanted to move a PG, targeted Porzingis, tried to move Brogdan, that fell apart, and they got it done because Marcus Smart was worth two first-round picks to another team, instead of Brogdan who was only worth pick 30 to another team.

If this is essentially Smart and salary filler for Zinger and two picks, then I like the deal.  I don't think Smart will age well.  I don't mind moving him as he enters the downslope of his career.  And that GS pick could be valuable - their core is aging and their defense is toast if Draymond signs elsewhere.

Big gamble, admittedly.  Hope Zinger works out for us.

They should go after Saddiq Bey.

Full draft pick details of Celtics trade:

Celtics receive No. 25 pick tomorrow from Grizz and Warriors' first-rounder next year, and Celtics send the 35th overall pick tomorrow night to Wizards.

That #25 pick has some good talent that may be available. Leonard Miller or Trayce Jackson-Davis. Maybe Cissoko.

Good pick. Good looking draft range in this year's draft.

Disappointed to lose Muscala. He was a very good 4th big.

I don’t think Brad would ask them, and neither seems like they want to be put in the position of having a say over which teammates gets traded or not.
