Yep, that would be right, and I’m sure he torches the Celtics in the 2024 Playoffs.

Not sure he is what Miami needs. Soon to be 35, injury-prone, and plays poor defence. I hope they sign him so the Jays and Kristaps can hunt him

I really wanted to keep Gallo. I hope he signs with anyone else but Miami.

I like Gallo for Miami. They are desperate for any type of useful size. Good opportunity for both player and team. Gallo's offensive game is a great fit with Miami's offensive system.

I hope that one happens.

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but Jake Fischer mentioned Taurean Prince might be a FA if Minnesota decides to waive his non-guaranteed contract:

Reid, a key center in this summer’s market, returning to Minnesota has opposing executives waiting to see if the Timberwolves waive veteran wing Taurean Prince and his non-guaranteed $7.5 million salary, which would help Minnesota gain access to the full mid-level exception.

https://sports.yahoo.com/2023-nba-free-agency-with-john-collins-trade-forwards-dominating-early-discussions-151510087.html

For reference, his current deal (the one that could be waived) is for 7.65 million for 2023-24. I don't know what his market would be like but I'm guessing it is cheaper than what Grant is going to end up making.

T Green is one of those guys that looks to have all the tools to be a really good role player (size, speed, skils, defense) but never quite manages to put it all together. Instead settled into undependable mediocrity.

That said, in a cheap bench role, he could be a serviceable backup SF/PF.

Hauser is probably better than him at SF. Hauser provides more consistent high level shooting and offensive punch.

When you play T Green at PF, he is a bit small and vulnerable as a defender & rebounder. He does not provide enough offensive punch to make up for it. So he'd probably be a 3rd stringer here.

Kinda talked myself outta that one as I went on ...

The only thing I’ll say going for this rumor is that it doesn’t seem crazy to me that Brad could be shopping Rob, which would create room for Vucevic.

Would be a wild summer if Brad went out and traded both Smart and Timelord.

I can be convinced White’s defensive impact can rival what smart has provided. We may not see a drop there. But Rob? We are a different team when he’s on the floor. Maybe Brad doesn’t trust he can actually be on the court when needed?

I do believe something else is brewing. Something big. Maybe Rob. Perhaps Al. Could be Brown. But I don’t think Brad’s offseason is complete at Porzingis, Walsh, and reloading his second-round treasure chest.

Yeah, I don't think we're done. Especially with the immense amount of noise about the 2nd apron, and Grant, and the TMLE, etc.

I like Hauser, but he couldn't even get into the playoff rotation. Some guys just can't hack it on defense in the playoffs. I would use Green as a defensive alternative that can also hit a 3 (37% career) and can also play some minutes at PF. However, this would be for a minimum deal which I don't think will get it done.

I don’t think Brown is getting traded.  His value will be substantially higher next year after his extension kicks in — anyone who trades for him now is taking a huge risk that he’ll leave in free agency.  Brad would have to be blown away, and I don’t see that offer coming in this summer.  Next summer, reasonable chance without a finals appearance or better, but not this summer.

While not on the trade block, the Cavs are apparently open to trading Garland.  Would you a consider a trade centered around Garland for Brown as the main comkenents.

Edit: Garland, Okoro for Brown, Pritchard, Kornet

I think I might do that, though I do like Okoro more than most (it does work without Kornet, but I figured that was an easy salary to drop)

2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I was about to post same thing. Although I doubt Stevens would agree to that, it would leave our backcourt pretty small with Garland and White.

Would rather package Brogdon, Grant sign and trade and a some first round picks.

Man that is shocking to me.

I don't think the Cavs would be able to do that without getting a high-level two-way wing back. I think Brown is too much for that.

Are the Cavs sending us more value back? Because I think Brown has more value.

I'm as big a Brown fan as there is and have been staunchly against trading him, I think he's better than Garland.

That said, Garland is locked up for 5 years (no player option) on a 25% max deal. I think as a pure value proposition you'd have to do that deal as the C's.

But that's also why there's a 0% chance Cleveland does that deal, they aren't trading 5 years of a locked up guy for a 1 year flight risk.

The team offense would look a lot better with Garland with major improvements in tempo, dribble penetration and playmaking.

G - Garland, Brogdon
G - D White
F - Tatum, Hauser
F - Horford, G Will
C - Porzingis, Timelord

Is the improvement in offense worth the drop-off in defense? I am not sure but I am interested. It is well worth considering.

Just look at how much better the ball-handling & passing is on the perimeter with Garland there instead of Jaylen. Getting to play D White as a two guard giving us a second ball-handler. And Tatum as a third ball-handler. Far superior ball-security, dribble penetration and team passing.

Turnovers are going to be a major problem for this team next season. Having a PG like Garland and being able to play an extra ball-handler in D White next to him would go a long way to allievating that concern.

And for the Cavs it balances their roster adding the wing for the small ball handler.  Mitchell, Brown, Mobley, Allen makes more sense as a core than the 2 small guards and 2 "non" shooting bigs.  It would be an all in type trade for the Cavs though.  They'd basically be taking a shot this year and hoping it works and can then re-sign Brown.  Jt might be a shot worth taking for them though.

If I'm the Cavs, I'd rather trade Mitchell

The rumor is getting shot down, although I guess intentions can change.
