OK so Dallas moved UP for Prosper!

I did say he was a riser.

I wonder if Brad wanted him or if he's pumping his fist and saying yes, the guy I actually wanted dropped to #25?

Yeah, wondering if Brad had his slamming the table moment like Ainge with Herro

The trade down from #25 suggests it's possible that he got SNIPED by Dallas for Prosper so he decides to move down.

Any details on what we got back to go down to 31?

Why are we getting a $5 mil tax payer MLE by making this trade?

In a vacuum I don't hate it. 25 and 31 aren't all that different.

But it's annoying to me, because when we traded Marcus Smart I had hoped we had someone in mind and either we didn't or someone else took him

They want to use the $5 million MLE

To get a player that Joe will never play

The pick came in quick. Like it was pre-agreed on.

The cap stuff makes moves like this so difficult to interpret.  So does the vagueness with which everything is reported.

So we picked up pick #31, some future seconds, and likely usage of the $5M taxpayer MLE, right?

Or we do and we will still get him.

I'm not sure if there's much difference talent wise between picks 25 and 31. However, pick 25 is a guaranteed salary, where as pick 31 is not. Is that correct?

Correct. Brad wants to be able to add a vet with the mle to fill out the roster

If future 2nds are worth that much, why did they give 2 away for Mus Cala?

Correct. Plus you can do the Hinkie special with a second round pick, which can be a valuable contract.

It’s annoying to me because I was getting ready for bed.
