Woj says we also get future second round picks. This also reportedly gets us in the range to use the MLE.

They basically traded 25 for 31, future 2nd rounders, and the $5 mil tax payer MLE. Stevens going to go veteran bargain shopping with the $5 mil MLE.

I don't get it. Why is Sasser a first round pick? He is a senior, a PG, who can only average 2-3apg.

That is not good.

Why did we acquire a 1st round pick in the Smart trade to just move it for #31? There's nothing else coming our way here?

I'm guessing a future #2.

Consensus about this draft has been than picks 20-40 were pretty similar tier-wise.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm fine with this I guess. We are pretty much out of future 2nds to include in trades, so this helps with that. There are a few guys I would still take here - hopefully one of them is still available at 31.
