How happy is Porzingis to be on the Celtics..  :D

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ItcCjbCXgbg

Happy to have him - he changes the offensive dynamics significantly. And… he stops the ball at the rim - his defense has looked solid.  He and Jrue are all I hoped and more.

Maybe just me but I find it so impressive that he speaks English so well. And then… switches seamlessly to Spanish (that was Spanish right?) which is also not his first language.

I think many people under appreciate Porzings’ defense. While he’s not as flashy as Rob was, he’s overall a better , smarter more effective defender

7’3” presence. changes guys shots in the paint and deceptively fast for a guy that tall.   He isn’t easy to score on.

KP is far better than Rob. Would be nice to have Rob on the bench but the move to get Jrue also looks brilliant (at the moment). I may be reading something that isn’t there but so far no Smart seems to have a positive impact on the on-court demeanor of this team.  Jrue is as steady as it gets - and I don’t cringe when he shoots. And the D …. I don’t miss Marcus at all.

I think that's Spanish, and I had no idea he spoke that language too. Seems to be fluent in Spanish as well as English. That takes some intellectual discipline.

And yeah, I love having Porzingis. I don't know why Knicks fans were ever so down on him. He's an injury risk, but so is everyone else who throws on a Boston Celtics uniform, unfortunately. If he's healthy, he's making a HUGE difference for this team. And Jrue will be a big difference maker as well. I'd wanted him on the Cs for years; so glad they finally got him while he's still got something left in the tank.

He played in Spain for 3 years and was there for another 2 so he's pretty fluent. He speaks English, Spanish and Latvian.

Idk if people saw Zolak&Bertrand today, but when they talked with Mazzulla which is their regular weekly segment, he just sounded like a different guy. Way more comfortably, outgoing, happier/fun. And he was answering questions thoughtfully and talking about the team and season with good insights.

The jury may still be out depending on how the season starts and goes, but I like the new Joe. He definitely seems way more comfortable than before and doesn't sound as serious/stoic (in a mean way) to the media and others.

Different feel to the team. And Joe had a great momentum stopping TO last night.

I don't miss the roller coaster that was Marcus Smart either.

It’s giving me the same vibe of cautious optimism. This could be a special year. Looking at both videos, Jrue and KG said the same thing - “this may be my best opportunity to win a ring”. Let’s go Cs!

is Felger delusional? this has to be just a hot take.

its pretty obvious in the pre-season Porzingus is our 3rd best and a case could be made for 2nd best player at times. he's been so wide open playing with tatum/brown the offense looks totally different.

yeah, i'm surprised with his defense. he's not 2022 Rob level. but i'm not sure Rob will ever be back at 2022 Rob level. he never was since his knee injury, and even last year wasn't the same player and couldn't be on the floor end of games because he was a liability on offense.

Speaking of Rob, anyone know what is his injury status?  Haven't seen any news about him.

He banged his knee in practice and hasn’t been heard from since.  I do feel bad for him — his body is preventing him from reaching his potential.
