Doesn't sound good.  :(

Doesn’t sound terrible either.  Often it hurts just to walk, so Porzingis probably was in a very early stage of the injury if it only hurt while going through workouts.  I personally expect him to be fine for the majority of the season.  This is very treatable with rest/PT/insoles, and he was shut down two months before training camp.

For sure I’d rather he didn’t have it, but I’d still bet he plays more games that Time Lord this year, for instance.

Yeah, plus with the orthodic inserts he'll be 7'4", LOL.

I feel the opposite.  "Not a big deal, ready for training camp" is exactly what I want to hear with regards to this injury.

Whether I trust Stevens at his word is a separate question.

I am not any more worried than I was before this news. There is always a concern with him. This really doesn’t change anything overall.

That's a pretty low bar, lol.

Hmm, interesting. Don’t know much about him, but he is supposedly a sharpshooter, right?

I wonder what this means for the other wings/forwards we had brought in for a look.

Obviously not much you're going to expect from your 12th-13th man but I'll take guys who have started in the past (on bad teams) and scored 10-ish points on 20-ish minutes. We should just be looking for guys we are comfortable putting in the game at that point, and Svi has shown he can at least cover some minutes. Not much more we can expect out of the deep bench.

Seems a bit redundant to Hauser but seems like a good depth piece.  There was an earlier thread with a U-Tube highlights video.  I see a player who moves really well off the ball, always in motion coming through the lane and off screens, and yes, can shoot well.  Been with 6 teams already, but only 26.  Probably will not be one of the top 10 on the roster, but seems like a reasonably reliable bench player with some ceiling.

Any word on guarantees? Seems like the type we would bring in on a non-guaranteed deal as a camp invite. Their agent is always gonna leave that part out when talking to reporters, though
I'm bitter.

I’m guessing he has at minimum a 50% guarantee, if not more.  He reportedly had Euro offers that would have been competitive for a full-year minimum.

Odd. A slightly worse Sam Hauser seems a bit redundant to me, but Svi is still an alright 3rd stringer

Feels like the only reason someone in his position in the depth chart would play is if something happened to Hauser in the first place, which makes this a reasonable insurance policy to me.

Celtics have two good three point shooters off the bench

Really like this signing for a deep bench guy. Svi imo is tougher than Hauser, moves better without the ball, and is a better defender.
