This isn’t actual news but listened to Gasper & Murray (I think) on my lunch drive today - they were talking about Brogdon being out 6-8 months (perhaps the season) with his arm injury. It was something one of them had “heard”.   I don’t believe it but thought I’d post to see if this is being floated more legitimately elsewhere.

Murray always coming up with garbage rumors on his "phone"

I am not that worried about this injury.  All the public statements are that he is fine and is expected to start the season.  Of course that was the case with RWill last season, until it wasn't.  Even if Brogdon can't play until December (which I see as a highly unlikely worst case), I am still not that worried.
Just to be contrary (I don't believe this BTW), it is possible those public statements were designed to keep his value up while they shopped him.

I don't think you would actually gain anything from that, the team trading for him would still give him a physical (and probably ask for all the info/scans the Cs have on the injury). Hiding the severity would just mean that the trade got further before the other team backed out (and nothing would tank his value and morale more than a team reversing a highly-publicized trade after giving him a physical)
I'm bitter.

Interesting blurbs off of Heavy.

https://heavy.com/sports/boston-celtics/free-agent-target-floated-terence-davis/

Terence Davis being looked at by the C's.
C's are moving on from Blake.
Evan Fournier to be waived if not traded.

Davis is intriguing as it would bring some scoring from the guard depth to the team.  For his career, he's getting about 16MPG and averaging 8PPG on 43 FG% and 36 3P%.  He pulls in about 3RPG which isn't bad for a 6'4" guard.  he's an athlete for sure, played football in HS too and had a bunch of major scholarships.

There’s been no news on Davis since June 30th.  Not saying he won’t end up here, but my guess is that no one’s offering him a guaranteed deal based on how his free agency has gone.

Your summary over-states the case about Blake. C's are not "moving on". The actual source Brian Robb himself acknowledges that he could be a late addition (training camp or later) as he was last year. No news on Blake doesn't mean anything at this point, other than the C's keeping their options open for the moment. Personally, I would be glad to have Blake back, and he might do better this season knowing the teams/players/system. etc.

I agree. The Ghost of Blake Griffin is a good guy for your deep bench. He still has swagger in the league, even if his play doesn't show it.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I'd be happy to have Blake back.  He's a guy that other players look up to.  There's room on a roster for that (see Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala).

In terms of filling out the roster, I'd be happy with Terrence Davis.

Timelord / Horford / Kornet
KP / Brissett / Griffin
Tatum / Hauser / Walsh
Brown / Brogdon / Davis
White / Pritchard / Banton

It's not how I would have chosen to do it, but it would be a strong roster regardless.

C's need a swing not a guard. Davis can play and would be good value for the minimum, but he doesn't make a ton of sense on the roster.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Who would you suggest, assuming Oubre doesn't take the minimum?

I'd be okay taking a flyer on Barton.  Who else is out there?

I don’t think there’s room for Kornet and Blake on this roster — I think we’re looking for a 3/4/5 type behind (or in front of) Brissett.

Derek Jones Jr. is the name I’m watching for.

I’m also curious to see if Champagnie is kept for August 1st.  That would be a signal they’re still working on a trade.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but why so?  Last year we kept between six and seven bigs on the roster at times (Timelord, Horford, Grant, Griffin, Kornet stayed all year, and then at various times we had Vonleh, Muscala and however you classify Luke Jackson).

In terms of a 3/4/5, I'm surprised that not only have we not been interested in Stanley Johnson, but apparently nobody is.

I think that our three top bigs (KO, Horford, and Rob) are all 5/4s, rather than 4/5s, which is what one might call Grant.  With Rob hurt to start last season, our two other rotation bigs were Horford, who needed nights off, and Grant, who’s a 4/5, so it made more sense to grab a bunch of centers in our desperation.  Because KP is much more of a 5 than Grant was or ever will be, we have more depth at that sort of position, so I think we only need Kornet or Blake as the fourth player who can operate there, rather than both, and get a Jones or Johnson (also someone I’m fine with) as the last big.

Also, I normally can figure out how you make some naming errors, but I do want to know the train of thought that turned Justin Jackson’s first name into Luke.

Both were scrubs picked in the top fifteen who were later connected to the Celtics?

Feels like the roster is set. Don't see them adding anyone else and leaving roster spots open

Guards: PP White Brogdan
Wings: JB Tatum Brissett, Banton Walsh and Hauser
Bigs: Kornet, Al, KP and Rob

2 way: Scrubb, Davison and one more summer league bro.

Still feel like the bench needs a true PF and legit NBA player

Think the rotation will include: Tatum, White, JB, Al, KP, Rob, Brogdan, PP, Brissett and Hauser

Ha.  I remember.  He looked pretty good at Oregon, and like every white player that's from the northwest (or plays ball there) there were rumors that Danny was intrigued by him.
